I have nothing planned for the Friday night. Where should one with free time consider going during the headliner slot?

Last year was my first Glasto, so I’ve not done much other than hop between the main stages so far, and I want to see more of what there is to offer

Depends on what floats your boat.  You could get into the SE Corner early before the crowds if the dancier side is your thing.  Wander up into the Green Futures fields and see what's happening on the smaller stages up there, usually some folky or acoustic type stuff going on.  Catch some standup in the Cabaret tent (that was my alternative to a Saturday headliner in 2023) or wander into the circus big top.  Go up to the Crows Nest at the back of the Park for the view, and often some bands squeezed in up there. World is your oyster!

Thanks! I appreciate that there is a breadth of options and it is dependant on what I like, it's just good to hear the opinions of people who might have already had the chance 🙂

Love how Glasto is such a different experience for everyone!  General feeling on here is that Friday night is a bit of a wasteland, and yet for me this has the makings of being the best night yet in 4 festivals.

Alanis > Biffy > 1975 is an unbelievable run for me.  All acts that I would pay to go to see anyway and yet I am going to get to see them one after the other on the Pyramid!  Puts the ticket price right into context right there

Gotcha!

So for me personally, I'd probably either tag along with my friends if I'm happy to be led with no better options, or head into Green Futures / Croissant Neuf / Theatre & Circus. Those tend to be the ones that are more likely to entertain me at that sort of time.  T&C can be great fun as you've got weird stuff happening at Sensation Seekers, and like I said I had a great time watching some standup comedy instead of Guns n Roses.

The other thing I've done if I've got an eye on something specific I want to be aiming for post-headliner is to take the chance to get some food, wander back to my tent and get my hoody, some booze and a few other bits and pieces so I've got all the stuff I want and can head to wherever I want to be while avoiding the crush

Floating Points into Four Tet

* Chef’s kiss *

This was my plan until Self Esteem was confirmed subbing the Park. So now I'm a bit split between booting it up to Woodsies afterwards for Four Tet or do the shorter walk to Ash and hope I can get in the tent.

Will probably end up deciding on the day.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
