Secret Sets 2025

Really scratching my head (unless I’ve missed some ITK info) on the 35 minute Pyramid secret set.

when the lineup was first announced there seemed to be an consensus  that perhaps this was just a set time error and it would be updated correctly, but all signs now point to it being correct and actually will be a 35 set with a massive changeover time.

again, on first announcement there was debate on whether this would be a short (duration not height) artist  set ie Lewis Capaldi or some speaker ie Corbyn. I was always edging towards the former but then saw a video clip this morning from the lady who runs the Facebook glasto fans page where she was saying she’s been told who it is but can’t say anything but it’s very special and something that’s never been done before. She also stated that once it gets revealed it’ll be understandable why this had to be kept secret, which got me leaning towards some kind of high profile speaker and the need for security etc hence the secrecy. I did see that Zelensky was supposedly in the country so maybe him?

all very intriguing but will find out soon!

ps any info welcome to put my mind at ease 😂

I'm willing to bet that Capaldi is performing a set somewhere. I'm not certain it is this 35 minute set, but I've had info that makes me certain that he'll be using performing this weekend as springboard publicity.

Throwing this out there - wasn’t Peter Kay rumoured at some point. A comedian on the Pyramid Stage has never been done before and a 35 minute slot might just work. If he replicates what he does at the end of his tour then it could work well.

No way he could play the comedy stages as it would be too busy so Pyramid could work.

I was told about Lewis a long time ago that it was a definite

Was that specifically for this 35 minute set? I'm in absolutely no doubt he's performing this weekend

Don't tell me we're back to the stand-up comic chat for the Pyramid.

Watch it go that way now, mind.

If Capaldi wants to be eased back into live performance, is the idea of a thirty-five-minute Pyramid slot symbolic? As in, finish the rest of the set he had to abandon?

Not really.

Someone who I assume was doing a "bit" kept saying he should headline. Not aware of him really getting mentioned outside that context.

I don't think a comedian on the Pyramid is entirely out of the question at some point, but I think if it did happen they'd at minimum need to prep the crowd that they're not going to hear music.

Didn’t he cut his set short last time so this is just finishing off his set, if it is him?

So here's a theory for the weird timings.

During the extended changeover beforehand, the previous set suddenly gets played on the screens.. timed so that it finishes at 16:55. At which point, Capaldi walks out to"finish".

That could be a possibility actually. Fits both the Capaldi rumour and the “never been done before” one. Hope it’s him as really felt for him when he couldn’t finish last time

Big reach here but I’m thinking the 35 minute set will be Ozzy / Black Sabbath. He’s got the one off last show coming up and in pretty poor health but maybe good enough to do a short set with the band, including a few special guests too.

Dreams possibly could come true.

Could the long changeover time not be for a secret guest speaker beforehand?  Think they have been announced very last minute in the past.

I just think they'd have at least said "speaker" to avoid tens of thousands leaving as soon as they realise it's not music

Anything on where this Confidence Man Saturday set is?

Not sure. But I commented on their post on X saying “So an extra set not just the Stonebridge one on Sat? Exciting! Any more clues?!” And Confidence Man has “liked” it. Not sure how much that helps really but seems like a separate set for sure. Could be the rumoured guest with Jade but I’m hoping it’s a live set somewhere 🤞🤞🤞

Don’t tease with ideas like this, if I miss Ozzy for Ash it’ll be a massive disappointment!

    • We head out in the morning. Couple of nights in New York then up to Boston. Enjoy the games lads and hopefully we get some great football to take our minds off the whole shitshow off the pitch.
    • White Stripes/QotSA at Harewood 2007, Tramlines (and Blue Dot, same weekend) in '23, and Elbow at Jodrell Bank '13.
    • Yeah exactly, the shock moments, group layouts, etc all end up playing out differently once you get into the tournament. However you tweak it, you don't predict shocks.
