  1. I remember the Reef tour manager putting gaffa tape over all the NME signs on the monitors before their set. It stayed there all weekend.
  2. Ooh might have to have a Saturday night in Bristol for this.
  3. Hope so. Should have a bigger slot though.
  4. I’m thinking of moving to Tidal, I’ve been thinking about it for a while as they give more to artists than Spotify. I didn’t know about the arms investment. With the new Spotify price hike the Tidal family service will be £3 a month cheaper for the lower res option. How does Tidal cope in the car? Do the higher res audio streams mean you are more likely to drop audio as you drive through areas of poor signal? Maybe the answer is in that thread!
  5. Just had an email from Bandsintown saying Flogging Molly are playing.
  6. Yeah it does get busy as people try to get past at the back. A different route around would be a better option. I didn’t think Skindred was too bad down the front.
  7. Really hope not, it’s a great stage. Not sure why they would remove it.
  8. Same time as Reprazent on the Jazz stage, I remember seeing a bit of both. Bloody love NIN, sometimes I make some daft choices at festivals. A Perfect Circle played too that day.
  9. I do that. I also have a crap old phone and wallet I leave somewhere obvious for an easy steal if someone comes in while I’m asleep.
  10. Everything is valuable to someone, I know someone who had their blanket stolen while they were sleeping under it!
  11. If you can see the padlock outside it does look like there’s something valuable to hide.
  12. Definitely use the lock ups, but you can’t put everything in them. There’s plenty of stuff I want in the tent all the time that I wouldn’t want getting nicked.
  13. That doesn’t make any sense, you have to try the tent to find the padlock, especially if it’s on the inner tent. If someone tries the zip to see if it’s padlocked and finds it isn’t… they are in the tent! As long as nobody can see the padlock from the outside or see you lock it, it will do something to deter an opportunistic thief. All tents have something worth nicking in, especially on the first few days of a festival.
  14. Paranoia I guess! I think people are more likely to be deterred by a locked tent, it’s easier for them to try another tent and looks less obviously like they are stealing. I agree it might make it look like there’s something worth stealing but the padlocks aren’t obvious and I think there’s not loads of people around who are willing to slash your tent. Particularly at Glasto since the fence. I use the lock ups, but it’s the things i need in the tent I worry about. Having a cool box full of nice beer going missing on the Wednesday would be a disaster!
  15. I’ve got the air version of that tent. It’s good for a short family camp in nice weather, but probably not a wet festival. The bedroom part is fine though. One of the windows is mesh with an internal cover which I’d imagine would leak. Also you can’t easily padlock it, which I always do at festivals. I have an F&B quick hiker 3 for festivals, it’s really good in bad weather. No porch though.
  16. NYC festival set. Stolen from Setlist FM: Sunrise not included!
  17. I’m hoping it’s a festival set we get. I’m already going to a Green/Brown gig. Sounds like they played plenty from the latest album at the festival set which is good for me.
  18. Bellowhead would be good for either. They’ve played Avalon before. Probably unlikely though, they’re touring at the end of the year but I expect they are on their own individual tours in June.
  19. They had Skindred there last year which was really busy. Sleep Token are much bigger at the moment, so seems unlikely to me. Would be amazing though.
  20. Thanks, I might give it a try then. I’ve been looking for an aerial photo from 23 to see where had space but didn’t see anywhere with much.
  21. Good to know. Was there still space on Wednesday afternoon?
