Missing acts from poster

The one I'm most disappointed about (in terms of the rumours) is no Duran Duran, as I can't imagine them being announced at a later stage.  I do think there's a possibility of Pulp being announced later, or being a TBC on the full line-up - so not given up on them!

Happy NOT to see Shed Seven, as I'd prefer them to headline Avalon, rather than be daytime Other.  And can't imagine they are being held back from the main stages poster for any reason.

Other opener always used to be a ‘secret’ they may have gone back to that

I'll be VERY surprised if Shed Seven don't pop up somewhere (and other acts of the same era- Sleeper, Echobelly)

Sleeper are doing a festival in Bristol on the Saturday... so don't know if that makes them more or less likely.  At least they are in the area!

Anyone think that Antony Szmierek will get a slot? Love the album he's just released and it's getting plenty of votes in the Album of the Month thread.

I think there could easily be space for him at a later date.

Loving the album. Got tickets to see him in 2 weeks, really looking forward to it.

The same insider who confirmed to me 1975 is telling me that Pulp are definitely not playing and they heard from a very inside-Pulp source. And they’ve been saying this for months.

Jarvis normally pops up somewhere.   The tour dates could equaly be aranged so he can pop onto site to do a DJ set or a talk in the free university -

it will not however stop me clinging to hope Pulp show up somewhere

I'm really happy with the lineup, especially further down the list but would have liked...

Waxahatchee, lambrini girls, viagra boys, porridge radio, everything everything, big thief, model/actriz, Doves, but you can't have it all. A couple of them will hopefully be added

Surprised but happy that Sabrina Carpenter is missing from the lineup. The Brits thread where this was being debated got deleted, but I think this says it all:

Names that I thought would be on there, that I'm surprised weren't

Pulp, Basement Jaxx, Underworld, Paramore, Shed Seven.

Hoping for but not really expecting

REN

Then there's Chappel Roan, although it did break over the last few days that this wasn't happening. (Was a surprising rumour anyway, given Reading / Leeds, but it had gotten so much traction until recently it was hard to ignore.)

That being said, it's day splits for a reason. Even though it's a great first poster drop, I think there's a lot of big slots to fill. Just because somebody isn't on the first poster, doesn't mean all hope is lost 🤞

I would like to think Ren is always on the Emily's radar and I'm sure if he was anywhere near being able to play then they would slot him in somewhere. Far too much of a risk putting him on the poster this far out though even if he was booked.

Chappell Roan as others have said is the big surprise, especially given her 'English headline exclusive' tag for Reading & Leeds. I'd have thought that could mean only Glastonbury would be the festival she was playing at as if she's headlining R&L, then surely she is too big to sub any other fest outside of Glastonbury. Unless she does R1 Big Weekend?

    • Maybe you need a groovy mayor who can get you the money.   Anyway, looks like mayors going to get a whole load of fiscal devolution and greater powers...so best everyone gets one, a decent one, and get a load of Madchesterism.

    • Another great weekend with family and friends.  We spend most of our time between Obelisk, and second stage due to having young children.  Overpass, Florence Road, Nathan Evans, David Byrne and Alex James were the highlights for me.  Quite enjoyed a dance to Gok Wan on the Saturday too.   Certainly feeling the Latitude blues this week and looking forward to next year.   Also looking forward to all the predictions for next year in the 2027 chat.   Hope everyone had a great festival.
    • How much is Burnham's success down to Manchester getting a shitton of investment for public transport infrastructure?   There's no doubt he did the work, but the money dumped into Manchester for him to achieve that was huge - the most of any infrastructure project outside London ever. Did that need a mayor, or just the money?
