Is there a general consensus for headliners next year or are we still at the guesswork stage?

I don't think there's much at all, currently.

Harry Styles seems to be constantly mentioned, but no real evidence (to my knowledge).

Can probably say the same for Olivia Dean, to a slightly lesser extent.

Then if it is the above two, or similar, you can probably expect a band for the third slot, of which there seems to be a handful of contenders, realistically.

Mainly guesswork at the moment, though, to my knowledge.

Shakira surely isn't headliner level, but I think she would demand a huge crowd and would have to be on the Pyramid. I'd say 3rd down/maybe even sub, seems too young to be the legend although she probably is the right kind of vibe for that slot

Other stage, like Avril Lavigne. Would attract a big crowd.

There's a well trodden 3rd down on the Pyramid position for big popstars that Shakira helped establish.  Would figure she'd be in the same sort of spot.

This is the correct answer

It was her playing that slot in 2010 that I knew Beyoncé would be heading the next year.

Been a while since I dropped in. If he doesn't do a second EU leg of his jaunt, then a HS exclusive at the G makes sense.

Mind you, floods of tickets going for Wembley still. If I lived closer - and didn't have a slew of other shows - I'd be down like a shot.

If your subconscious musical brain deemed him sonically worthy of a headliner slot - you'd be down like a shot 😉

I really hope Taylor Swift isn't headlining. Her fans are insufferable, and they'll be inescapable.

My money's on Madonna. Feels like a 'now or never' moment for her.

Feels like if Madge was going to do it, it would have been when she was touring last. Did a load of UK /Euro dates, but wasn't even in the convo.

I'd love it, but don't think it'll happen.

Imagine the whole Pyramid stage pit and multiple rows the other side of the double barriers being totally occupied by “Swifties” from early in the morning  on whatever day she plays, regardless of the rest of the bill

Yeah, bullshit.

It'd be no worse than the Radiohead spods who did the same last time they played, and would again. Or than you'd get with Oasis.

Maybe put all three on the Pyramid on the same day, then they can spend the whole time jostling for position, keeping them away from the rest of the site

Agree . The first thing there would need to be is a strong indication before the Nov ticket sale she was playing … then any swifties would need to get through the ticket sale against the standard punters . It might make any resale a touch harder for the small % of tickets that go back in that pot

Thought she was in the equation last year but didn’t stage setup rule her out . Maybe that was just an efest thing though … if that were the case I’m not sure she’s ever doing it tbh

times and technology has changed , a pyramid headliner is often about the show thats put on as much as the music like it or not and as much as many would like to you cant really blame an artist for trying to get the best out of the set both for the audience in the field and for the cameras also .... Beyonce was 15 years ago

Missing the festival this year? Want a bit of nostalgia for the old days? Local to Manchester?

Our community venue in Stretford (Trafford) are showing the premiere of  Glastonbury the Movie, 30th anniversary cut with q&a with the director!

It's on Saturday 6th June, hope some of you can make it. And maybe even spot yourself in the crowd! We have a cameo in the closing credits 😁 unless it's been cut in the new edit.

    • Primavera refunding day tickets which are probably a negligible percentage of attendees yesterday.
    • Thursday day tickets being refunded. Fair play.
    • I’ve had a good sleep and I feel weirdly zen about the whole thing.   My first Primavera, so not the greatest first impression. I guess today couldn’t be any worse, right?   Thoroughly enjoyed Men I Trust and Geese. Cupra is a beautiful stage and the crowd seemed fun, friendly and engaged.   I think it probably could have gone even worse, considering how dangerous the crowding felt at times.   Anyway, we go again.
    • Brighton centre is a weird old venue for the Mary Wallopers - a great band, a really good live spectacle, and its a saturday night as well which sets it all up - but its at the bloody Centre? a charmless nonsense of a conference centre? Brighton dome is a ten min walk away and is so much nicer a place to see bands its ridiculous!    ah well, i'll probably mosy along anyways . . .
    • So bad honestly. I get that bad weather happens but their communication was non existent. When you're managing crowds of tens of thousands of people, it's just not good enough. I left when Massive Attack was cancelled (the first time) and it genuinely did feel unsafe trying to get out. No one knew what was going on, people still sitting in the ground when there were hoards of people trying to leave, no crowd management at all...   I've been to PS enough times to know sometimes you need to just roll with it but this was way worse than "the bar queue was 30 minutes long".    Today will be better but still feel super disappointed.
