I have tickets for Heaton Park, never been before. Is it an absolute nightmare getting back in to the city? I have a hotel booked in the west area of the centre, but I'm wondering if I would be better off just getting the coach back with big green coach - I would only be travelling back to Leeds and can cancel the hotel for free. Can anyone advise on the reality of getting back into Manchester and how much of a nightmare it really is?

Its all relative to how much you're used to walking. its not THAT bad, I find it completely fine. I'd just do the walk personally as the trams will be busy (and feral)

Nothing kills a buzz more than queueing and getting on a hot, packed tram

How long roughly did it take you? If more than an hour than seems like I may aswell cancel the hotel and get the coach.

I live nearby and my advice would be to walk the opposite direction to Prestwich tram stop. As long as you plan ahead and come out of the park in the right direction, then its about a mile away. You can then get a tram back into Manchester before the masses get on at Bowker Vale.

Very, very difficult. Maybe a not very densely filled bag of something, but you're not getting cans or a hip flask in.

Was thinking more along lines of squishy little bag tucked into bra or something like that?

Thank you. According to google maps it would be around a 30 min walk, then another 40-50 min back to the hotel from there. Will weigh this up against getting the coach.

I was chatting to my mate about this last night. Is he going to play stuff like Lyla/Shock of the lightning?

Or is the set going to be heavily based on first 2 albums so he stays on most of the time.

Imagine he’ll do what he did at the Liam solo shows? Be on stage for songs he played on on record.

How easy is it to sneak booze into the Cardiff arena? I've never been there before

At Bruce last year, easy. Got in a pocket (200ml) bottle of Jameson in the pocket of the hoody I was carrying. Wasn't the only one of our group to do so. Bag search was very lax, likewise the non existent wand/pat down. Depends if you can afford to risk losing the money on it if they find/confiscate it.

Legend! Thanks so much. That will save some pennies!

I was also fearing if they find alcohol then they might not let you in the venue, but if it's just confiscated then that's not so bad. Would be more sad losing the money on the tickets than the booze!! (and missing the gig, obviously)

My mate just got an email from See - its a ballot to get into the front standing section at Heaton Park.

Not sure how this will ease safety vs allocating front pit wristbands first come first serve. Oasis crowds will be in pubs as the doors open.

Really annoyed by this, was looking forward to getting there early, and it being the one gig where you're not stuck with a seated ticket, and now it's just lottery.

Wonder if they add anything similar to the stadium standing

Same, basically a ballot between whether I'll enjoy it or it'll be a horrible experience. Going to try to get a Wembley one nearer the time, as id like to have a chance of hearing them at least once

The safety aspect is that this is a separate area and entrance. Basically, there'll be a HUGE gap between the barrier and front section, and loads of security to avoid people jumping the barrier into the front, which we know would happen and would be incredibly dangerous.

Now you don't even need to make the effort to be in the 20% who get a good experience

This could have a real impact on the "vibe" too.

The front pit being half full of Oasis tourists, who aren't that arsed, isn't a great prospect.

The front pit being full of people determined enough to be there when gates open is a far better policy.

I didn't think of that. Horrible

Proper nause this is, we’ve got 4 groups of 4, we are all gonna be up at the park when it opens, but now our groups could end up being split.

Realistically you'll all be in the main bit.
