You really think a bit of dancing, some light shows, visuals other than a live stream of the band would have been too much to ask for at a ludicrously expensive comeback gig? Their presentation and staging just came across lazy like most things surrounding this cash grab tour.

Well, yeah. It’s for oasis fans. at these prices it’s really not for the casually interested. If you prefer more elaborate music and entertainment then it’s not the gig for you.

It’s absolutely not for me, I can’t stand the band, but all the nonsense and bluster around it has been quite fascinating - there’s more than a touch of Emperors new clothes to it, but that makes it even more interesting to watch from afar as people get excited about two brothers finally bonding over making £20m each in a summer 🤣

I'm not even an Oasis fan, and the answer is obviously yes for the dancing part.

That'd have gone down as badly as if they'd sprayed the contents of a long drop across the crowd.

What a great post, thanks. I’d never have gotten away with it.

100% emperor’s new clothes, not just the tour, their whole career

There's level to this in between standing around looking all miserable and flying in on  zip wire. Some choreography wouldn't have gone a miss though.

I think I would piss myself laughing if they had choreography. Some one please make it happen, obviously after the gig I am going to as I don't want to soil myself in public.

The thought of that of them dancing in time has put a smile on my face.

Would you be expecting Liam to fly into the stadium on a zip wire like P!nk or something?

Well obviously I really want this to happen now and I'm not even going

Can we have fireworks involved somehow too please?

Wouldn't 100% rule out fireworks or even that drone show at Heaton Park.

Obviously the roof being closed at Cardiff made it impossible there.

I was thinking specifically relating to Liam on a zip wire

Maybe like firework up the bum got from Euro 2020

Yes it would have been stupid. I’m now convinced you’re just a wind up merchant.

Question for locals or regular Heaton park attendees: although there is no official drop off area (and official lines talk about shuttles, trams, walking from town), what is the closest I can get before I am likely to hit restrictions? Looking to drop my daughter and her mate off on Friday and her mate is recovering from a broken foot - still in a supporting boot but can walk a little bit.

Choreography 🤣 ...best thing i've read on here for a while.

I don't suppose anyone has seen the size of the pit at Heaton Park yet? Little worried it's going to be a monster.

Secondly, any thoughts on where to park? I haven't been to Heaton Park since their last gig in 2009. I'm coming in from the Leeds end if that helps.

I personally thought the staging was great - the classic Oasis logo flown above the stage was simple but striking, while the enormous downstage screens didn't just show a live stream of the concert but great visuals with live elements embedded.

The aesthetic during Champagne Supernova was sublime, as was the post-gig sunset.

This is Oasis - they're never going to dance around or do choreographed steps and would have been ridiculed if they'd done so. Instead it was just a great Oasis stadium performance with a killer setlist and slick modern visuals - perfect for me.

There is some road closure info on here. Might help you?

I had a plan of jumping on the tram well before the masses. Looks like that's out of the window with tram works, unless I'm missing something - Bury line only going from Market St or Victoria - that'll be an absolute zoo

Exactly what they said, no bells and whistles more than getting out there and doing it.

    • Based on previous times that rules quite a lot out of early summer festivals into the August runs.
    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
