Was added to reserve list on Sunday, on Monday I was told they would have availability opening up on shifts and to express interest so filled that in on Monday. And on Tuesday I was offer the space and given a log in details.

Thanks!

I'm at reserve list on Tuesday, express interest form received at 11:30 last night, filled in by me this morning.

I am volunteering with Oxfam and coming with my Mum and boyfriend, they are both volunteering for Mycause and are parking at Orange. Is it possible to come through Purple to be dropped off at Oxfam and then they come out and go round to Orange to park up?

On monday or tuesday? it might take a couple of conversations through the car window, but id say it would be a very reasonable thing to want to do, i'd go for it - tons less traffic at that time, and much more time for people

Ok. So I’m unsure if I’ve  been accepted. But I’ve been given a login to critical waste system and filled out all the sections. Can’t seem to find a submit button at end so assume after I’ve filled all the details that’s it. Like I said still unsure if I’ve got a place, but seems my intial application/details was accepted. Don’t think the reference mattered as much due to last minute situation maybe. I guess they have to review all details to double check everything’s legit and then get an email if I actually have been accepted. We will see

Next question for Oxfam folk...Planning to pack as lightly as I can which is no mean feet for me. Tent is a 3 man pop up, will have a rucksack then probably a bag for lift type bag with my festival clothes in it and a camping chair, probably a case of cider. Is this ok to take on the Oxfam bus from Temple Meads?

Also any other tips for a first time volounteer much appreciated!

Not sure about the bus, but does not sound excessive.

Take a plate, mug and cutlery to use in the Oxfam canteen.  They do have disposable plates to purchase for each meal, but best take your own.  Also take any pot snacks, porridge etc, as there are hot water urns available, with tea and coffee supplies provided as well.

Its a bit PG Tips at the oxfield, which if youre fussy about tea - and you should be, we all should be! - you might want to take a stash of your own decent tea. Im led to believe the coffee might be honking too but all coffee tastes of headaches and brown so its not really my business to be fair. . . . i appreciate it greatly though, the urn etc, its just unfathomable how manky the teaspoon gets in no time at all 😁

what do we think the odds are that a few more oxfam places pop up the week before like in the last few years? Still trying to get one for a mate but since they released a bunch of them a couple of weeks back, I guess there can't really be any cancelled places left to go back in the pot.

Nothing wrong with PG Tips. The adverts with the monkeys still make me laugh hysterically even today.

Yes PG tips is my tipple! They don’t have decaf though so if you need that then bring your own!

You save each section as you have completed it when all the sections are filled out email Nat let her know it’s done she’ll check over it

give it a day then login and it says congratulations your application is complete

hope this helps

The coffee is amongst the worst things I've ever had the pleasure of tasting!  Not even being a coffee snob, it's just rank!  I always take my own sachets... and personal spoon 🙂

Sorry I should have updated this. Nat confirmed my place last night. Appreciate the help though. Also, appreciate everyone giving tips on potential ways to to get a volunteering place on here esp.@Emmilou182  I wouldn’t have messaged the recycling team without the post about you messaging them and being added to the waiting list. Feeling very grateful, especially after the mycause situation.

Yes I'd like to echo this message!

This is what led to me emailing the recycling crew!

I'm now waiting to have my team/shifts confirmed, as they have said there's a chance I can work with my friend who recommended me.

This time next week I'll be camped up there. Just got back from doing the Glasto shop. Got enough painkillers to open a small pharmacy (have a dodgy tooth and sometimes get gout). Getting anxious already!

Bonus is the dentist there will be quicker and easier to access than anywhere else in the U.K.

    • So we've signed a Horny Czech, and Bruno's turned up the training camp instead of doing Isak's nonsense.   Still not sure I believe Bruno's staying mind, but glad he's not doing the sh*t Arsenal are asking him to do to lower the price. If they want him they can stump up.   My suspicion is that whichever of Madrid/Man City don't start next season with Rodri will go for Bruno, and one of them will come in while Arsenal have f**ked about trying to get him cheap, which while I absolutely want to keep him, would still be good enough bants and a nice middle finger that I wouldn't mind it so much. I just wish we'd report Arsenal for tapping up.   If rumours are to be believed, we're after 2 more defensive signings, and an attacking player, on top of a replacement if Bruno leaves, having already signed a LW, 2 CMs, a GK, and some youth players. Huge churn, but apart from a couple of Bazou Toure's games for Ivory Coast at the world cup, I've not seen any of them play. Over 2 summers we've basically changed our entire team aside from the CBs.
    • I think the level of headliners Bloodstock get is varied    There's been bands who have gone on to play Download in quite a low spot like Meshuggah, Behemoth, Opeth etc.    Then they've had years like 2025 where you can argue that all three headliners are download main stage sub level    Knocked Loose right now i'd argue are 3rd down on main/opus headliner level while EC and FFDP are borderline main stage sub
    • Yeah Roy's Tune was lovely. Looking forward to the whole thing hopefully going on iPlayer.   It's scattered dates they have this year really, proper tour/s to come next year - suspect a new single will drop in the next couple of months, providing the album is done.
