This is great news. Surely they would need to do it on the Pyramid or Other Stage anyway or it's going to cause absolute carnage.

Zero chance they're playing the Pyramid on Thursday. They may be headlining a stage on Thursday. They can try spin tht as headlining the festival on Thursday if they want.

And Maxi Jazz left the band in 2016, they've been performing without him for several years....

The current licence doesn't cover the main 16 Stages and Venues at any time other than Friday - Sunday.

Who’s to say something hasn’t changed though? It’s pretty unusual to make that claim. And interesting that on the poster they are beneath the line.

Because this is eFestivals.....Emily can't invest in new socks without someone on here knowing about it.  Changes to licence T's and C's are bread and butter round these parts.

Somerset Council.

A substantial licence change like that would need to be notified and consulted locally. It couldn't go under the radar.

It's possible that they plan to apply for that change. But it's a bit late, and announcing it like this won't do them any favours.

very unlikely -  they could have done that anytime in the last 20 years but have chosen not to.

Yeah. And if they intended to do so now, surely it'd be before booking a band.

would have done it over the off-period, starting last summer, and not during the busier run-up to the fest.

Yep.

And if bloody Example can pull a massive crowd on Thursday, then it’ll be carnage for Faithless.
