That's how journalism works?

Also,we don't know where these names come from...same places as they originate in here, various people in the industry.

That might be how it works at the local rag level nowadays. But do we waste any time discussing the latest click bait from Somerset Live?

Somerset Live doesn’t have the same history of ruining lives as that rag so we should give it less notice still.
How do I know where they got the names from? I don’t. But from their previous years predictions I have a bloody good idea

What's your issue?

They've probs pinched it from the discord which is where the news of Charli, O Rod, Chappell broke- not on here.

this is f**king boring every day.  So childish.

Hmm yeah maybe but not beyond the realms of possibility that they have a guy in there. Although all of what they are reporting is a week or 2 old now so maybe they don't.

Which goes to show how often the ‘intel’ changes on locked in headliners 😂🫠

well i do because Charli and Chappell were never mentioned here until confirmation came from elsewhere. SO one way or another it came from there.

“confirmation” lol

Mate, it’s all rumours until acts are definitely booked, and the only truly official way to know they have been is when they’re announced. Name me one rumour that isn’t hearsay.

You’re coming across like a trolling simp for elsewhere and it’s a poor look.

It's weird cause I saw you posting about not having listened to much Neil Young buy you have been recently. I'm sure that's a coincidence and not cause you think he's headlining glasto lol. Wonder why you think he's headlining? 🤣

Aaaaand here we go yet again.

"I've got sources" vs "sources don't exist."

Talk about boring.

Thread about to be derailed for pages on end again. Any chance of a separate thread where this can be hashed out and we can all choose to avoid?

the thread was derailed by people crying about The Sun

Still have no idea what your point is about the sun? Seems to be that you're wound up that it was mentioned and people have voiced their distaste at it?

Very strange.

Instead of discussing any of the names in the article, it immediately became a competition as to who hates the Sun more as it always does on here.

Not every post needs to be prefaced with 'I hate the Sun'

You don't get to choose what people post about so if they want to post their opinion on the sun then they can.

Ignore it & get over it.

It's a Glastonbury headliner thread, apologies for thinking it was a better to discuss Glastonbury headliners than politics and hillsborough.

Every response you make perpetuates the discussion … if you want to talk about headliners then do so and the thread goes back to that topic …

It’s much better to discuss the latter. This thread is just an endless circle of pointless speculation

At the same time, you could choose not to make it a thread about how hurt you are that people aren’t recognising the source from which you first found out about specific rumours. It’s beyond tedious.

Given they could do it individually I'm raising an eyebrow at why they'd feel the need to do it as a duo.

Could Mariah Carey really do it? I mean for a non-Christmas tour?

Looking at her setlists, she seems to do Christmas themed shows in Nov/Dec, and then completely different shows in the other 10 months (which don't usually have any of the Christmas songs in them).

This is the setlist from her recent Vegas run, and tbh it's not something that I'd expect to fill Hyde Park:

On the same bill?  What I meant.

I reckon she could do BST, sure.  Its not a typical festival and if it was her only UK show she'd pack it.

She's not a support act at any rate.

If people knew they were getting the Vegas setlist, I'm not sure she'd get it half full.

Though yeah without making that clear she maybe could sell it out, albeit then leaving a lot of people disappointed on the day.

    • Having done all three, Porto is lovely, very chilled but nowhere near as exciting as Barcelona (nor as many options). Bilbao BBK has charm but again not a patch on Barcelona really.   ps and the beer was 5.50, not 5, last year 😉
    • Honest question and with the risk of getting slaughtered, do you feel people should stop the chatting on the entire field? When my group is in the front rows we surely keep the talking to a minimum and largely only about how great or bad the artist is. But surely on the main field when you are further back (lets say around the bars (200 meters from the podium) you should be able to have a conversation. If people are still annoyed about that I would recommend them moving up further.
    • I just genuinely think they don't understand technology and its felt like this since the invention of the internet.   Also see say a speech on a Monday saying we want to be a world leader in "this thing" then on a Wednesday another speech saying "this thing" is bad and needs to be banned/regulated out of existance.
    • My party again had an outstanding 4 days in Barca. We made the right call to leave the festival site early at about 10.30 on Thursday to get ourselves some excellent steaks in the city. I am with everyone that the organization should have been clearer about what is going on and also if you would like to get rid of some attendees open more exits, they sent us from gate to gate until we finally were able to get out. Biggest 'disappointment' was the beer price, a YoY increase from 5 to 6 is absolutely nuts!!! (i am living in Switzerland so me making this comment says something 🙂)   Top 10:   1. Men I Trust 2. Role Model (could have been first as well, what a great artist and great songs) 3. The XX 4. The cure (the last 90 minutes) 5. Gorillaz 6. MBV 7. Ninajirachi (another big miss of the organization, clearly on the wrong podium and wonder if Olivia's surprise set had something to do with that and they had to reschuffle late the Occident, Cupra and Port schedules) 8. NewDad 9. Big Thief 10. Annastashia      We did 3 years Barca now and for next year looking at the Porto or Bilbao festivals as an option.
    • Personally if it was me now, I would be grabbing a green camping ticket with the knowledge closer when I've refreshed that I can still choose general if I want to....you can't do the opposite!    I would say if you are happy to watch your headliners and big bands further back to be able to see who you actually plan to later then yes it is fine. Its a much difference experience to any other festival especially food wise and camping surrounds.    Once you're in the arena as well you're not going back unless you've got a gap. If I go again I'll be going with the option of not trying to push the front and enjoying further back as you actually put too much pressure on it than the time take away can forget to enjoy other acts.
