so...we're still looking at

pyramid: The 1975, Neil Young, Olivia Rodrigo

other: Loyle Carner, Charli xcx, ???

?

I missed out on 2024 tickets and when the headliners were out I thought 'dodged a bullet with that one' to somehow end up at a Glasto with (for me) even worse headliners.

To be honest none of these are standout for me. Last visit to the farm was 2017 which I thought was much more of a wow factor (Ed was at his height right then)

Apparently, according to the other place beginning with a d (wink wink), my bloody valentine were supposed to headline the other stage on the Friday but for whatever reason, have since dropped out so yungblud is now replacing them.

Downgrade of the century, and that is with absolutely no disrespect intended for Mr Blud.

For my tastes that is pretty shocking. Wouldn't watch any of them.

TBH don’t know much about LC

hoping for the likes of the prodigy, biffy, QOTSA, Courteeners. Pulp, Basement jaxx, FBS, chase and status to be headlining a stage

Prodigy headlining other stage Sunday and Basement jaxx headlining west holts(Saturday?) are strong rumours.

The 1975 - dull, Neil Young - fantastic but not a party, so no as a headliner, O Rod - again not a party, so no.

Loyle Carner - heard him live- dull, Charli - will be a party, so possible yes depending on who’s on elsewhere

O-Rod will be a party.

Neil Young as a headliner feels like a dodgy choice to me - that might be quite a small crowd… ?

Is there an attendee threshold of what we would consider to be a small crowd for a Pyramid headliner, based on precedents from prior years? SZA excluded, obviously.

I do agree that you want your headliner to put on a party. So much as I love Neil Young, and he'll surely be the greatest artist playing the festival next year, if he's headlining and he's up against, say, Ezra Collective, he might lose. It's also why I think Beth Gibbons or Laura Marling would be wasted at the top of the bill, on any stage, though they're both absolutely great.

I'm still hoping Pulp or Massive Attack might turn up, though there seems no sign of it.

Massive Attack don't exactly throw a party either - and while I agree it's usually nice to end the night with a bang, limiting headline sets to that and that only is self-defeating.

It’s obviously very dependent upon musical tastes, but I think ending the night with a party is fairly easy if you look outside the main 5 stages.

Always something going off with Arcadia, IICON etc

Little finds are always the best.

Sasha & John Digweed...

    • exactly. give them mordor slot when I have other alternatives, not Wednesday
    • Absolutely love her record, System. Definitely an album that rewards a bit of commitment.   She's right on my must-see list. Hoping she's in the Walled Garden, as I think her sound might be a bit muddy if she's early-ish in Far Out.   Ben
    • Same here, I kept trying to go on A View From My Seat to see if each block was worth it. So vague!
    • Ok, I’ve had time to process the experience now, so here is my review.   The good Barcelona - what a beautiful place! What lovely people! The city was like another headliner. Stayed in El Poblenou, and the bars, cafes and restaurants were perfect. Avalanches - Absolutely spectacular, euphoric set. Fantastic stage. Possibly enhanced by substances that I timed right, for a change. Added bonus that I don’t really remember the queue. The Cure - I’ve been a fan for 34 years, and never got round to seeing them, so this was a dream come true. The XX - The sound was exceptional. The lights and setlist perfect, giving each member their moment. Was really loud where I was standing (between the front and the sound desk), but i didn’t notice any chatters - even during the quieter moments. Also loved Men I Trust, .bd. , Big Thief, NewDad and Gorillaz. The food within Parc Del Fòrum was also a lot better than I was expecting.   The bad People talking non-stop throughout some of the sets, and shouting to be heard over the music. I had to move 3 times during Wet Leg just to be able to hear the band over the crowd. It’s probably an age thing, but I just don’t understand it. You’ve paid how much to watch these acts, and now you’re standing with your back to the stage, missing the music and ruining the experience for everyone else? Odd behaviour.   The weather apocalypse on Thursday. I genuinely thought I would be able to tough it out. I couldn’t. Left after Geese. The lack of communication from Primavera didn’t help.   Whilst it was lovely to be by the sea, and the sunsets were very pretty, the site is a bit…concrete-y, isn’t it? I kind of longed for some grass and trees. Often found ourselves standing on the steps by the Adidas yard by some bamboo. This was probably a subconscious need for some nature. The fact that some of the nature included cockroaches did not negatively affect the experience.   My daughter, for running away when she saw the drug dogs in the queue on Thursday, meaning that I lost her for the whole evening. She hid her stash under a bench, and it miraculously survived the storms.   Also, can someone explain the point in having a wristband, when you still have to show your ticket every time you enter and leave the site?   Finally, I would like to nominate myself as one of the bad things about this year’s Primabera. I should have done Primavera a lot better. It was my first one, so I’m still learning, but I think I left too early on the Thursday. Left after the Cure on Friday, so I would be full of energy on Saturday, and then barely made it to the end of Gorillaz anyway, meaning I missed Overmono, Skrillex, Skullcrusher, Kneecap, and a few more I would have liked to see.   All in all Amazing lineup. Decent food options. Cupra and Cupra Pulse stages were very impressive. Weather was perfect for 3 out of the 4 days i attended.   It was always likely to be a ‘one and done’ for me, but we had a blast, even if I am starting to get too old for all this.
