She might’ve not been at her absolute PEAK around then, but she hadn’t tumbled nearly as much as she has now and was still headlining stadiums at the time - was a very big booking. People here were refusing to believe she wasn’t a sub and that The National were gonna go on after her. Shame she almost f**ked it by filling half the set with songs from a sh*t album nobody had heard yet.

I called it happening and Matt42 was calling me all of the idiots on here. It absolutely felt like a Glasto booking decision that would never happen anywhere else.

Matt42 ❤️

Been hoping for them to pull a similar stunt with Bruno Mars one day, but alas has never happened.

Wouldn't surprise me if Paramore told Glasto to get stuffed if the offer is to open for Olivia Rodrigo, considering the drama between the two acts. They would be best off with R&L, audience would appreciate them more anyway

The ‘drama’ was allegedly their publishers along with their ex-guitarist who co-wrote Misery Business pushing for credit. Hayley Williams has said along the lines it wasn’t her. Paramore at Glasto would be great.

The Sun are reporting today that The 1975 will headline the Friday night.

Given the sources around these parts they would probably be right too. Added to that The sun got U2 and Arctic Monkeys both correct in 13 and 23. They also tried to get The Rolling Stones correct and kinda did as much as they somehow managed to hold the info off.

I’ve read the arguments and I’m mindful that you can only book what is available, however still feels like a weak three to me. No issues with any of them headlining individually but as a trio it lacks that oomph.

Is there talk of Paramore on the other stage?

Subbing Pyramid potentially under The 1975

I'd argue it could strengthen his case, if anything, unless those dates are all over the G weekend itself.

Big venue - not sure what the biggest stadium is for concert capacity in London.

London Stadium is about 80,000 for gigs I think

Sam Fender playing London Stadium and St James Park in the Summer - think that rules him out of a Glasto headline slot.

London Stadium confirmed? I'd just heard of there being an announcement tomorrow which was jointly announced with the Newcastle United social media accounts, hinting a return to SJP for him.

Struggle to believe he’s going to do 2-4 UK day festival dates alongside Glasto as well, especially given he’s doing an arena tour as well next month. Feels more setup for 2027 as a final show from his latest album.

But I’d love to be wrong tbh, think he would be be a great headliner!

    • Generally shorter too, I imagine. 🙂
    • Will that work for arenas with seats? People will have their tickets on their phones and needs to find their seat.
    • Excellent new release from overpass today - well worth checking out.
    • Having lived here for 2 and a half years now my take is that security, safety and organisation are just not a priority in Spain. It's not even exclusive to festivals. It's a part of everything.   Simple example. I'm Irish and in Ireland if you assemble a construction site you have to adhere to a lot of regulations about cordoning off the site so nobody can enter and get injured. Here, you're walking down the foot path and suddenly without any warning you're in a construction site. If not, you'll suddenly find yourself directed onto the road to get around the construction.   Life is more laid back here in general. Pros and cons.
