It seems ages since Wet Leg's first album. It's only actually a couple of years (after googling) but it seems longer for some reason.

They were part of the previous summer’s soundtrack when our overlords let us out to play again after Covid part 1. Think that’s why it feels longer.

Even though the album itself only came out in 2022, they were playing pretty much all of the tracks that became the album at gigs as soon as live music returned in 2021, and that's approximately when the buzz / media attention started as well. So the album arguably was "late" compared to a typical promotional cycle.

That makes sense 👍🏻

With the bad publicity Oasis are getting from the ticket sale could they play Glastonbury as a way of making amends to the Great British public?

I doubt very much that they give a shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite

So many people seem to be willing it into existence as the one that's got away for 2025. No matter how much the signs are that it won't happen.

To be fair, CalGo is taking the piss with it.

There are others who really are that dumb though.

can we just let everyone think that until after ticket day has passed please? After that we can agree it was a bluff.

Yes, everything goes quiet now, our ticket day passes then next April 1st we get a message ‘remember we said we weren’t headlining Glasto?’ Well we were fibbing!😊😉

#manifesting

Tbf I like the idea of them doing an on-the-day secret set on the Other Stage or something. But yeah, much as a lot of people want them to do it, it ain't happening.

I'm less sure who will, mind. Feels like there's a good 5/6 in contention.

All the amazing, ground breaking dance acts that have played at glasto in the last 3 decades...... The Chems, Fatboy, Justice, Underworld, Goldie, Bicep, Leftfield, Orbital, Daft Punk..... a Sasha / Digweed DJ Set.....and everyone is hoping for populist, unoriginal Fred ' flash in the pan poundland Calvin Harris' again to headline. Dance Music for people who know nothing about dance music !

Just shows the slim pickings available to festival bookers these days.... its like getting the Vengaboys or Ultrabeat to headline glasto '97

Gatekeeping must be such fun.

We could just celebrate that finally a dance act has a good chance of headlining the Pyramid?

Exactly this its amazing news and leads the way for others!

While its definitely too early in 25, I wonder if Glastonbury would consider the reformed Linkin Park as a headliner.

They will almost certainly do a Download first but if the reunion proves popular it might be another act that could enter the shrinking headliner pool.

Is this referring to glastonbury - confused if so

I thought Download was the one people felt might be at risk of a shrinking headliner pool. Glastonbury isn't at that much risk of a drought yet, right?

ah i see what you mean - they definitely could enter the pool if they stick around

    • A question has crossed my (questionable) mind;   Has the size of the Green Fields remained the same as other areas have expanded / been added on to, since say, 2014 (the last time that I attended)? Are they 'lost' within, or well attended?    That's actually two questions. The second one just slipped in at the end by taking advantage of my lack of means to stop it.
    • I'd say the same about Kylie.    Annie would be awesome, Duran not so much, and on the issue of them wanting a beanie slot, that probably rules out a fair few others who I think would fit the bill very well... and are legitimately more entitled to a headline, and/or too expensive.   Was just about to suggest Chaka Khan, but see @Gnomicide has beat me to it!    What about someone like Bryan Ferry?
