IOW paid £1m for Green day this year.

This isn't very much in the grand scheme - Reading pay multiple times that for their bigger headliners

Each wembley show will easily be making them far more than that £10 x 90,000 tickets is basically it already, profit likely far more than tenner on each though

Only R&L and Glasto could possibly get them I think

Ok. I wanted to wait on Oasis before I posted this, as I thought that may change the landscape - but it appears they aren't doing it.

Fresh off my Oasis reunion success, I'm chancing my arm with information I had from the same... circle, shall we say. I had this just over three weeks ago:

They've offered Eminem.

Whether he'll do it or not is another question, but I was told the offer is in.

I thought Bruce was ruled out based on tour dates being too close?

Effectively ruled out of the Sunday, and extremely unlikely for the Saturday.

The Friday could just about work logistically, but even that seems a bit of a stretch (and may get fully ruled out when the rest of the tour dates are announced).

Thanks yeah this makes sense - I thought we might have some new info…

I have to join the straw-clutchers - I would definitely not rule Oasis out the picture yet, regardless of what the promoter wrote in their press release. At least until Emily says it, which she may well do over the next week or two. The two Gallaghers, massive fans of the festival, kicking off a stadium tour the week after (...in Cardiff?). I don't believe it would be signed and sealed yet regardless, as I suspect there is a lot up-in-the-air logistically about the reunion (warm-up shows, new music, Liam & Noel getting on, additional dates, ticket sales), but I can't see why it would be completely off the table, unless GF have 3x strong headliners secured, or the band have TBA warm-up shows elsewhere that weekend.

If you choose to believe the above that one of the headliner positions has been offered to Eminem, this would mean that at least one of the headliner slots is still open.

Hopefully past it 90s duffers Oasis don't play and still relevant, vital youngster Eminem shows up to bring a proper party.

Had to check the username... I thought this was @Skip997 writing!

    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
    • Definitely. UKIP also used Merkel welcoming 1 million Afgans to Europe in 2015 during the brexit vote.   Politicians in other countries within the EU know the are going to lose voters to parties to the right of them over stuff like this and they've no control over it.
    • I think it will very much vary on who there is to book who they know will sell out a day.    They’ve co-headline and full headline stuff in future, there no reason at all they won’t do it again, even if it means cutting someone’s set by 15 mins or having a band less in a big bands day…   They’re not going to not book Foo fighters and instead get the equivalent of Florence and C&S just to not have a band do a big set…   …unless of course they think it will make them more money…
    • Maybe some right wing leaders like Meloni are just playing to their base, like Reform have been here talking about them ending up at Calais.
