The midnight run of the ECM still goes for a completely dry festival.  Quite a turnaround from a few days ago….

Just a chance of a shower on Thursday as the weak front that will lower the temperatures moves through…

and the big storms to our south are never too far away all next weekend, but at the moment they’re staying put in France where they belong…

Glastonbury is in TWO DAYS! But will the latest GFS still be FFS?

GATES OPEN & WEDNESDAY

Completely dry at 9am, highs of 19-20.

image.thumb.png.beaa147931b41c42a5c252f9e029d9fe.png

Some very light rain has reappeared on this one. But light blues are nothing. Highs of 25-26.

Temps overnight into Thursday of 15.

THURSDAY

Completely dry, highs of 19-20. Down again on this run. The GFS continues to be insistent.

Temps overnight into Friday of 11-12.

image.thumb.png.e2914888f968c0209390106372a41005.png

Pressure picture is very consistent to the 18Z. Latest on the right.

FRIDAY

Completely dry, highs of 19-20 - again marginally down on the last run.

Temps overnight into Saturday of 10-11.

image.thumb.png.48230a5fb88b109e32f05701b5e75c3b.png

Again, GFS consistent on the pressure picture. Latest on the right.

SATURDAY

Completely dry, highs of 19-20. An UPGRADE. Finally the cold temperatures of all the recent runs are gone.

Temps overnight into Sunday of 9-10.

Pressure picture is slightly better here, hence the tick up in temperatures, but there's no finger. Latest on the right.

image.thumb.png.41319dac480dd7ba2120059dab5ad781.png

SUNDAY

Completely dry, but now the cooler temperatures are on Sunday with highs of just 17.

Temps overnight into Monday of 9-10.

image.thumb.png.2b75d5525a3e60af474e8e66ecc0340f.png

The higher pressure just doesn't get up from northern France. Latest on the right.

SUMMARY

A great run, other than the much cooler Sunday, with a completely dry festival.

A couple of my apps are now agreeing with the GFS. So maybe, on its general trend, its been right all along... Personally, I'd twist to get another couple of degrees on Sunday.

This is the stuff of dreams. Bravo.

weather looks spot on. Not hot, sun and clouds, mostly dry.

Have a good festival.

Yep 19/20 when there's no shade feels really warm, but it's not that energy sapping heat.

It's perfection.

Shades of 2017 here - really hot start to the festival on Wednesday (Met saying 25c) before settling down to something a lot more palatable.

Was thinking the same, perfect

Not sure I would be as magnanimous about that penalty decision as folks on telly were. I'd probably riot

Who’d a thought an Argentine referee would have missed that decision. Hand of God strikes again☹️

anyway, the met office is still holding firm and we’re on the road in a few hours🙂

A week ago looking at this thread it made me feel a bit better about not going this year, now it hurts even more. You've got a great one coming up. Enjoy it everyone but if you see the BBC cameras on you please don't look like you're having to much fun, want to make ticket day as easy as possible.

    • Used had one of the biggest crowds in the Wave last year. Not really my thing but enjoyed it and the crowd were bang up for it. Might be too much of a step up on the Main though.
    • Thing is it depends on what the issues are - building a bigger stage would likely bring the Pyramid up to the relatively standard 20x20 space for "on stage" production which does make it easier for touring setups. But if for example she wants big / complex extensions going out in the field (such as she had in Rio) that would remain just as awkward to achieve without massively disrupting the rest of the day or potentially even weekend.
    • A month or so before any ballot a group of up to six is registered and a lead booker named.  That gives see tickets time to check if any individual’s registration, post code  and details appears more than once on different groups and removed then on ticket allocation day tickets the groups are just randomly balloted.  It’s felt like a ballot in the last few years, just sitting staring at the dreaded two lines, glancing nervously at the clock as time passes. Maybe the f5 refresh gave you the sense that you were actually doing something 😊
    • or can we just have Metallica back please 😄
    • Feel Stevie Wonder should be in the conversation as a random Michael Eavis headliner ala Neil Young last year.... If we did get a M.E pick for one of the headliner slots, who else would be in the mix do we think? Cher? Rolling Stones? Nicks/Fleetwood?
