Seems to be a low degree of confidence from Met Office of any significant change happening - as reported on Beeb website this afternoon. Alludes to some models producing a change 🤔

No way they are going to go in two feet on a big change on the way two weeks out.

I absolutely adore the festival, but I'm telling you now, if it was like it is in my part of Somerset right now, I'd be driving in on Friday morning and gambling on a camping spot. Cold, wet and 40mph winds as I type.

Better now than in a fortnight but f**k me, what terrible weather for February, let alone the middle of June.

I bought some walking boots today, first time in my life I’ve owned a pair.

The wife has shelled out for a fancy new waterproof jacket, which can apparently withstand the force of an atomic bomb.

With this in mind, it’ll be a scorcher and both purchases will remain unused.

It's crazy. Our heating came on this afternoon, as it does automatically when it drops below a certain temperature. As I say, better to get it out of the way this week. Shame for those on site though, not to mention those at Download. Complete opposite to last year's weather.

We've had it like this in the east for weeks! Fires on. Daddy long legs and spiders all started coming in the house like it's autumn...

The sun has GOT to break through for the festival. We've had temps as low as 8 degrees during the day this week 😫

I've got online shopping baskets full of fleeces and joggers. Will give it until Thursday...

After 5 very warm months in a row, June is still doing its best to break that sequence.  It can’t carry on this cold, it just can’t…. 🥶

I am so confused about May being the warmest on record. How can that be?? I'm pretty sure I can remember warmer Mays in the last five years!

Don't confuse weather with climate. Averaged means say warmer overall.

Apparently the night time temperatures did not drop as much as they normally do so the average May temperature was lifted by that.

Basically, the weather was f**kin mint when we were all in bed asleep. Another barometric kick in the nuts right there.

It's more a case of don't confuse air temps measured by thermometers in stevenson screen enclosures with 'feels like' temperature walking around in direct sunshine or wind and rain.

The rending of hair about it on social media has been hilarious. They're gaslighting us!

Correct. Wind chill very much a factor atm. Sitting outside now and windy makes it feel more like October than June.

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
    • Ultimately Glasto is just part of the festival circuit, however special we may think it is. The vast majority of its headliners have done many others
