Maybe I’m looking in the wrong places but I googled reviews and had a look at their socials and can’t see anything like this?

Well you have to know dutch of course. If so, take a look at the post Studio Brussel (the festivals main media sponsor) about GnR. Bring popcorn.

Also these reviews. Some hilarious quotes here. "You have a problem when the bassist sings better than the singer."

Like many of us suspected, sounds like Glastonbury will benefit massively from a lot of the filler being cut out. I’m a fan and even I’d struggle to muster interest for 3+ hours of them, especially when they really don’t have that much must-see material.

Axl’s voice is just something you have to get over at this point unfortunately. Yeah, it ain’t what it used to be, and at times can be embarrassingly bad, but he was lucky to maintain it at a pretty decent standard for as long as he did and it just sucks that it’s gone to sh*t now that we’ve got (kind of) the version of the band people want to see live.

Expecting to be watching their set from home somewhat wincing, but hopefully those in the field have a good enough time.

Yes, but there's a difference between singing poorly (Anthony Kiedis levels) and singing laugh out loud ridiculous. Pretty much every clip of them I've heard from that Graspop show is painful to hear you just can't ignore or 'get over'.

Tbh I was defending it back when that video was doing the rounds from Tottenham last year when he was ill, but after having seen more recent videos, it doesn’t seem like it’s gotten much better. Every once in a while you’ll hear a brief glimpse of the Axl of old, but it doesn’t last long before it sounds terrible again.

Can’t help but feel sorry for them/him as it must f**king suck going from one of the most recognisable and hailed rock voices to sounding like some guy down the pub doing a dreadful impression, but then he’s also been his own worst enemy for the last 30+ years in tarnishing his bands reputation so I’m sure there isn’t too much sympathy going around for him.

The first review is brilliant. He hated everyone, couldn’t buy a beer and had a terrible time.

The last one touches on my main concern. Too long and unfocussed a setlist for a festival. More worried about that than Axl.

Think Axl's voice has clearly dropped a bit in recent years, but stick it next to a fair number of fellow eighties-hard-rock contemporaries and he still probably passes muster.

GNR will benefit from having Lizzo on before, me thinks. Practical polar opposite, so no need to make comparisons. (If Arctic Monkeys hold court still, they will have to live with Foo Fighters playing before them, for example.)

I went to the festival, I have no idea what the first guy was doing there lol The whole festival was pretty flawless from the organizational stand point

Axl's voice was pretty poor, he lost weight and is in a good form, he runs around 80% of the time but I guess his voice is now gone for good. Much worse than in 2017 when I last saw him. Slash was carrying that show pretty hard

Loads of GnR shirts to be seen today.

Reckon it might be a wee bit busier than predicted.

Thought the same, but worth nothing that virtually all of the ones I've seen are being worn by 'older' people, not sure how much it'll resonate with everyone else

I'm still baffled G'n'R are headlining Glastonbury at all, let alone on the Saturday Night. I'm not huge on rock music and even I'm aware that a) the band are past their prime and b) Axl Rose's voice sounds like shite. I'll be tuning in tonight out of curiosity more than anything else.

I feel a bit vindicated! I drunk posted here in December after seeing them and went on about how it was excellent and they would be a proper headliner. I faced quite a bit of challenge on that point!

This forum can sometimes tend to focus on one or two negative reviews and dismiss the positive.

I Hope everyone watching is having a blast!!!!!

Is this the first time a song has been performed 2 years on the bounce by 2 different headliners (live and let die by the way)

Islands in the Stream - Kenny and Dolly

Edit: derp, not headliners..
