I remember that. Yes, it was after the Sunday headliners, it was raining loads, Bill came on at about midnight and he was brilliant! It's become one of my favourite ever sets at Glastonbury or any other festival. I remember him drinking a cider someone gave him and laughing as he said he could see all these eyes staring at him from underneath umbrellas. Said we all looked like garden gnomes! I had a great time!

"Hello Glastonbury you dirty, smelly, hippy people. Ich bin ein binliner" - I remember that being the opening line, bloody great gag.

Welcome back. We understand if you want to run for the hills.

There's generally some good reasons why I mostly hide in the new music and gig threads.  Occasionally venturing out reminds me what they are.

Also reminds me to make liberal use of the ignore users function. Some might call it living in ignorance, to which I say absolutely. And it's lovely.

What’s the record for the longest headliners thread without a full trio of confirmations

I’m sure we’ve had several thousand page threads in the past on headliners but not sure where the announcements came …. The headliners thread goes a lot quieter once we’ve had confirmations .

I don't think I even twigged there was such a function!

    • After all the good advice on here I had a nice visit to the site earlier in the week.    Walked down from Pilton village to Hitchen Hill and down the footpath to the Wood by Woodies.    Really strange seeing the site empty of 100,000 people. There is far more hedges and woodland on the site than you remember when the festival is on. Can see the stone circle and some structures still up on site. And looks like Worthy View has some camping going on there during the summer too.   Lots was fenced off with electric fencing to help wth the cattle grazing. Is really amazing how they set up the site as its hard enough accessing the area by car and foot nevermind all the kit needed to set the festival up. As others said you can't walk the whole site but nice to see the site again after a few years away   Pilton is also a lovely village with a nice village hall shop and post office attached, and got to speak to some locals who told me a few tales of past festivals down the years. One house for sale there would be lovely to live in - if only I had £2 million going spare
    • 6music just shared a video of all of Fontaines DC singing along to the Cure last night. It'll be them. Booooo    Olivia might get up for I Love You though...
    • Proper loser behaviour wearing a tee like that. Me and my mate play a game every year called ‘Boomer Tees’ and there’s some gems every time.
    • Naah, she plays 4 dates in Barcelona in early May
