I'd say it's a better venue than Pompeii. Less iconic for Pink Floyd especially for sure but as a venue I'd say it's much better because as you can see in a picture SweetJesus posted it looks even more stunning

Did I lose my train of thought regarding AM finishing their run next year at Glasto? Word on the street* is they're playing BBK Live in Spain early July so I'd expect the stadium gigs from mid-May throughout June, Glasto and BBK/Nos Alive plus other fests they'll be doing around that.

*LastTour, the promoters behind BBK, have been trying to catch them for years and they just put up two new festivals out of the blue with AM headlining this September so most likely scenario is they didn't offered 2 gigs but 2+1 next summer.

Besides, they did Primavera and Mad Cool last time and they've played Benicassim a few times -not that they'd go with the new direction tho- so BBK is the only one left. Now they suddenly announce two new festivals in Malaga and Portugal in early September to allocate this tour but won't lock a third date for their main festival? Would be strange, but who knows.

Seriously hope that starts to feature a lot this tour. Fucking incredible tune. Only a couple if chords but it has such depth.

I reckon I already saw the best setlist 11 years ago (with album uno Vaccines supporting which was cracking). I'd probably swap out Brick By Brick for R U Mine nowadays, DSDCIMYC is the perfect opener if they insist on playing it, Evil Twin should have been on AM (I was so excited about AM after Evil Twin, You And I and R U Mine).

Saw this tour in Nov 2011 in Birmingham. Me and the 8 or so I was with regularly list this as our favourite ever gig. I'd graduated that same day. Their energy and set list were superb. Probably the tightest I've ever heard them, too. Incredible.

It was not bad but in my opinion the sound was a bit meh. Not their best, not their worst. Decent setlist though (I'd still remove couple of AM songs). I hope if they headline Glasto they play Four out of Five, it's such a banger live.

Secret Door is in my top 5 all time tunes of theirs. I'd perhaps take out Knee Socks, only because the two times I've heard it live, it doesn't do it justice. Such a phenomenal track but they don't seem to capture it. Hopefully I was just unlucky. Finsbury Park sound quality was dog shit in fairness.

Ooo I saw that tour in London. If I'm honest I mainly went as I couldn't get tickets to The Vaccines own shows but randomly got a side-stage one for them with AM at London O2 (and tbf on album 1, that slot was probably the same length as their own headline shows).

That show was pretty fucking awesome, and as a first time seeing Arctic Monkeys, I don't think I'm yet to top it, even with Do I Wanna Know and R U Mine, both of which are brilliant songs. Even if Mad Cool 2018 was good fun.

May be putting 2 + 2 together and getting 5, and I haven't been on for a few days so apologies if it's been mentioned:

I posted a while back saying I've been told off a few people that this upcoming record will be the last one for AM. The people who've told me are well connected enough to know, when it comes to the band (I take no joy in this, they're one of my favourite bands).

During I Wanna Be Yours the other night Alex said "it kind of feels like the end of something". Maybe unrelated, but seems very random.

I'm gonna hammer their gigs next year, on the assumption that this is true.
