Shall we crack on with the 18Z?

THROUGH TO GATES OPEN

As per, there's the heavy-ish rain through Sunday. We know that well

It's then effectively completely dry to gates opening, with temps of 21 both days to aid excellent drying.

At 9am on Wednesday, it's dry and 18.

On Wednesday, there is still the some afternoon rain, but it is much reduced compared to the 12Z. Highs of 22.

THURSDAY

Completely dry, highs of 22.

FRIDAY

Oooooh. A downturn here as some daytime rain has reappeared, a more than we've seen for a while. But it is just the afternoon and not that much. Highs of 23, so any moisture would dry up very quickly.

This is because the high doesn't build in quite so convincingly at this stage. Latest chart is the one on the right.

SATURDAY

Completely dry, highs of 24

SUNDAY

Completely dry, highs of 23.

SUMMARY

As you can see from the chart below, latest on the right, the high isn't quite as commanding by Sunday - and that's why we don't hit the really high temperatures at the weekend.

This does mean we get the rain on Friday afternoon, but it wouldn't add up to much and the heat around would mean the ground isn't affected.

So the payoff for the reduced temperatures is a bit of rain on Friday -- which shows we are far from having anything set in stone from Friday onwards.

But the path through to Thursday is starting to look very consistent. Will we end up getting a finger?

Did we get our evening run?

Some rain about on Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Nothing particularly heavy, probably hit and miss showers. Rest is dry.

Temps until Friday are low 20s, creeping up toward mid 20s on Saturday and Sunday.

I’m sure briddj will do a proper update but:

Wed: light rain in afternoon but mostly dry - 22

Thu: completely dry - 23

Fri: light rain in afternoon but mostly dry - 23

Sat: completely dry - 24/25

Sun: completely dry - 24

Pretty good.

That's kind of perfect, especially if the rain is light. Warm enough to enjoy, but not hard work hot.

Every run has been looking pretty decent for ages now!

Pretty good? It's trending worse. Cold and wet.

    • I see, well even if they aren't on sale it's still not a disaster sales wise, it's not like they are struggling to sell a half capacity areana
    • Blue dot wouldn’t be a thing if Ticketmasters dynamic pricing went down as well as up, it proves that the dynamic pricing was just a scam to make more money rather than something that moved with the market supply/demand.
    • I agree that we’ll never really know up until the concert happens (and even then we still may not know) but I think promoters are having to come up with new tactics to combat ‘blue dot fever’ (already hating that phrase!) and trying to imply that concerts are selling better than they actually are / available tickets are in short supply is definitely one of them.    To add though, it is quite common at the O2 Arena for the rear blocks to not go on sale (and then remain closed for the concert and covered over to hide the empty seats). And equally common for standing to sell out first, then side/lower tier seating next and rear/upper tier seating last.    Jungle’s two concerts at the O2 are a good comparison for this - for their 1st (announced) date, all blocks are on sale and seats in all sections remain unsold, whereas for their 2nd date, the rear blocks are greyed out (more so than for Muse) and equally lots of seats remain unsold in the blue blocks. Standing for both concerts are showing as sold out.
    • MGK can and should headline. I was at one of his shows earlier in the year as a very casual fan, and there were a lot of alt people there. The show was actually class and he completely won me over. Anyone who opposes him headlining is just a gatekeeper imo, we need to move with the times.
