nikkic
The post gig interview with Jo Whiley gave some clues as to why the ELO set fell largely flat. She asked him what it what was like to play the “greatest festival on Earth” and he pretty much just shrugged his shoulders and said he did it because his manager told him too. Never going to be a classic when you have zero enthusiasm to be there in the first place.

Don't really feel big enough for what is - to all intents and purposes - a 4th headliner. But get em on El Pointo or West Holts for suresies. Did Lionel Richie really have more well known songs than Human League?

Gilgamesh69
I know he's struggling with health and stuff now, but what about Phil Collins? If you aren't taking your top off to Sussudio then there's something wrong with you tbh

Still went off though.

Or at least Phil Oakey doesn't. They may well run out of options. The pool isn't limitless. But if Kylie can do it then Robbie Willaims very much can. Guest
Another more modern name, and I don't think he'd do it yet. But in a few years I could see Justin Timberlake playing the legends slot.

dentalplan
I doubt when he’s 55 we’ll be talking about him at all. Not sure if he’s enough of a bust flush to take one of those late-afternoon pop slots now. Maybe.
CaledonianGonzo
As a Gen X-er nor sure many people of my generation give much of a fiddlers re. Timberlake. Robbie Williams is by no means universally adored but equally I don't think you could begrudge him it.

If that happened then Fleetwood Mac would never be an option and they settled for what they could get. 50 minutes ago, giantkatestacks said: Biggest legend left for me? He is at The Hollywood Bowl for 3 nights in Sept to celebrate his 90th birthday.
Punksnotdead
The lowest point for Glastonbury ever: the moment Robbie Williams belts out Rock DJ - probably the worst song in the history of popular music (with the possible exception of Hey Baby by DJ Otzi)! It's a straight up fact that the worst song ever is Barbie Girl by Aqua. Closely followed by that new Fontaines DC one.
