Hurt/Heal Ultimate Other Headliners

I like the idea of an ultimate battle where everyone nominates their favourite ever Glastonbury sets then we have a hurt heal using all the nominations.

I'm torn between thinking we need to give it a rest or do all the other bigger stages and then a battle of the champs.

We've still got a few to get through if we do the latter:

JPT
West Holts
Park
Arcadia/Pangea
Perhaps a collective SE corner hurt/heal
Perhaps a collective small venues (Rabbit Hole, Bimble Inn etc) hurt/heal

Could keep us going for years

Quite like that idea, though if you're going to combine stages may as well just add Park, make it a mega hurt heal and that's us done all the large stages

And thus will lead to the final round of all the smaller stages: Avalon, Acoustic etc.

I'd say 21st century. New Bands Tent and JPT have had roughly the same booking policy. West Holts, ditto, it's evolved with the times but kept a consistent identity.

Park came later, but when you think about acts like Super Furries, Crystal Castles, Wild Beasts, Cat Power, Kano, Hot Chip: they'd have been JPT headliners if the Park never came to be.

So yeah, I'd say 2000 onward.

This Other Stage thread has 47 acts and has taken ages if we take the next three together back to 2005 we get 91 acts, I don't think we need to add an extra 5 years.

Pouring an early one out for some of the New Bands/Jazz World headliners circa 2000-4.

Television, Roy Ayers, Spiritualized, Death In Vegas, Morcheeba, Roni Size/Reprazent, Tricky, Buena Vista Social Club, Manu Chao, St. Germain, Fabio & Grooverider: we hardly knew ye

Roy Ayers and Manu Chao make the cut anyway.

1999 gives you Wilco and Patti Smith the cut-off is always going to miss acts, 2005 has a link to the stages 2000 is just an arbitrary round number.

    • I went to the O2 show as had cheap NHS tickets. I did love the whole Machine Gun Kelly vs MGK Emo/Pop Punk stuff amusing and could see that show going down well. I thought it was so funny watching the video skits of a die hard old skool fan gradually morphing in to an Emo Kid. That show with less old Machine Gun Kelly tunes and more MGK Pop-Punk would be ace.   Pair him against a heavy act on the other stage and jobs a goodun,
    • Not sure if this is allowed, but I have an additional daily ticket which I’m willing to sell for a heavily reduced price. If you, or someone you know wants to go that day, but wouldn’t for the original price, let me know.    Edit: It’s for Friday
    • Couple of standing tickets left on ticketmaster if anyone is still trying
    • Choosing  I think boycotting a festival you would usually attend simply because you don't like one of the acts is pretty petulant to be honest, just go and watch a different stage. There are plenty of the usual slam dunk attendees who would be into him, as well as attracting new festivalgoers too.
    • I've never felt it takes that long but I'm quite a fast walker 😂
