Guinness will definitely be my first pint back. Nothing quite like a well poured one. As bad as that is I’ll probably even take that if offered!

Anything but the pissy, thin, zero head bastards you get at gigs and Twickenham. Just no.

The risk *to the two people meeting up*. No-one has ever argued otherwise. Again, you're also fundamentally missing the point. Once an individual is vaccinated meeting another vaccinated individual will be as safe for them as it will ever be.

When people say there is a risk, what they mean is that there are still unvaccinated people out there, and vaccinated people will have contact with them. So vaccinated person A can safely meet vaccinated person B at nearly zero risk to either of them. However it is possible for vaccinated person A to still have COVID, and pass it on to vaccinated person B. It's less likely than two unvaccinated people meeting, but not loads less likely (40-80% depending on the vaccine). Person B could then take the COVID caught from person A and pass it on to someone unvaccinated in their family.

And while the individual chances of that happening are still low, there's potential for millions such meetings over the course of a single day, countrywide, so so of those are going to actually cause transmission. And so transmission rates will go up.

Honestly I'm finding some of the conversation on here increasingly bizarre of recent days. It's genuinely starting to feel like people are willfully trying to spread misinformation to win points in arguments, because I genuinely don't think, based on their posting history, that they haven't already worked this very basic stuff out.

Your post is as clear as mud, are you disputing the information within the article I was referencing? Something else? Or do you just have a chip on your shoulder?

I don't believe I'm guilty of spreading misinformation but perhaps you can link me to this if you believe this is the case?

A tall, frosty weiss bier is my poison but it's super hard to find where I live. Hoegaarden, Blue Moon or Shock Top on tap is a close second but again, a rarity. Estrella Inedit is also tremendous but I've only ever found it on the continent on tap. Love anything weiss or malty. What I'd give to be sat outside the Hoffbrau in Berlin sinking one of their Munchner Weisses. Anyway, back to work.

They did (do?) Blue Moon in Croydon Boxpark, was an acceptable option from a limited range. Served with a slice of orange, don't know if that's standard?

The article you posted talks about the risk of two vaccinated people meeting *to the people meeting*. Yes, obviously that's nearly zero, and no-one here has every argued otherwise, if you think they have been, you've misunderstood. The misinformation I think you're spreading is that that was ever the argument people were making in the first place.

That doesn't mean there's no risk to other, non-vaccinated people that those people might interact with.

But isn't the point that if they are only meeting vaccinated people in that way, then they won't be exposing unvaccinated people to that degree because they won't be meeting them?

its a shame to see such a mistreated pint of Guinness. Bet it didnt last long though

Even a badly poured pint of Guinness has me salivating at the moment!

Maybe I'll try to make it to the pub for a couple of pints Saturday afternoon as there's no sport on telly!

Yeah, that's pretty much as good as it gets unless you find a specialist beer emporium. There's a place nearby that has BM on tap. Yeah, orange slices tend to get added to the malty beers. It works.

If both people literally only interact with other vaccinated people, and those people also only interact with other vaccinated people, then yes that's also as safe as it'll ever be. Wasn't the point being made by the article / poster though. Also fairly difficult in practice as at least one person will have family who aren't vaccinated at the moment.

(Also, y'know, goes for people who straight up don't have COVID - I made the point far, far earlier in this thread that if you were someone like me and my partner, who during the first lockdown worked from home, got all our stuff delivered, and only left the house for an occasional walk, it'd be totally safe for us to meet other people doing the same thing, indoor or out. We didn't, as it was against the rules  - and the rules were like that as it would be too hard to enforce and drive a massive wedge between those who could live that lifestyle and those whose jobs meant they couldn't)

I haven't read that article but given that the most risk as we now know is between people meeting up indoors without ventilation, I don't have a massive issue with vaccinated people meeting vaccinated people , as long as they aren't then meeting unvaccinated people. The risks of spread to a random person is VERY low at the moment.

Also, I think we need keep people incintivised to get a vaccine. Once someone has their vaccine, telling them that's ITS NOT OVER KEEP LIVING IN FEAR AND KEEP AWAY FROM PEOPLE is counter productive IMO
