Do feel for the NHS staff, they are probably feeling pretty drained as outlined in this article and concerned for the months ahead....

Whilst I am pretty confident that it won't get overwhelemed, we need to respect the fact these people are not robots.

This is only true for a small percentage of staff dealing with covid.

For the vast majority is largely business as usual and many have had a very quiet 18 months.

Staff being pulled away to deal with covid increases pressure on the rest of the staff so that's incorrect.

Really ? Think they might be shutting them pretty quick … wonder how this will go for us !! That’s a huge surge

I predict fucking chaos, the 100k+ cases a day doesn't seem like an underestimate at this point.

Hope we've made the right call.......

Netherlands probably opened stuff at a really bad time just as delta taking off there, might not be so bad here.

SAGE being optimistic??

I don’t think so personally, ZOE app is already hinting that we are likely plateauing around now.

Rate of growth has been consistently falling for some time now.

To be fair there is a pretty long way to go for them before they get anywhere near where we are now!

I'm not sure it'll quite that bad but I think cases will rise to a high level after July 19th, cases are still rising now so I can only imagine what it'll be like with no measures in place.

We'd still be under much more severe restrictions to be fair. But still...

Very.

Yeah I was thinking earlier how cases at the moment are at levels that weren't seen till the tail end of the last wave when we were in lockdown but now little to nothing has been done about it, the vaccines have done a truly remarkable thing

    • Based on previous times that rules quite a lot out of early summer festivals into the August runs.
    • No dramas man, I just like to follow others journeys as well. Get the inspiration, give out inspiration and the outdoors is the clear the head place to do it. I'm heading out for a easy trail run today I think, 10k- 10 mile we'll see how we go. I've got a half marathon in October I'm well unprepared for hahs
    • The Cheap Thrills at Mountford Hall, Liverpool.    They've been around for a while and have built up a large local following. Last night was their biggest yet, at a sold out 2,200 capacity venue.    It was a big old joyous, indie singalong from start to finish, the band clearly having the time of their lives. The debut album is out next month and they seem to be going down well on the festival circuit, maybe their time has finally come.   2 supports, I unfortunately missed Credits but the few songs they have on Spotify sound good, Americana vibes. The other was M60, reportedly Gary Neville's favourite band. If that's true, he's as clueless about music as he is football. To be fair, their sound was poor, maybe with a clearer sound they'd have been better but it was pretty dull.
    • I can see them all merging along with the Tory’s . Restore curently couldn’t muster enough candidates to be a viable option . I lasted 4 mins and couldn’t watch any more . Lowe is just dull along with racist
