That's completely fair enough - I don't think anyone should feel negative about feeling negative, the rational and emotive don't often interact in rational ways. Hopefully thinking about what next xmas/summer might be like will help lift some of the gloom but that shouldn't mean that you can't feel sad about not seeing loved ones at the moment.

Sad not too see people at Christmas, but can live with it. Often spend Christmas abroad on holiday anyway. Just struggling with how I'm going to fill over a week off work. Can only imagine I'll either be drunk or in the gym. Strange times!

yep literally nothing changes. Too late to change guidance and expect anyone to follow it who wouldn't already do so

Think I'm finally making the right decision anyway - cancelling everything on my side and girlfriend is going to her parents on boxing day. Fairest option is if I just stay at home I think....

Lots of Playstation time for me - I never feel like doing it when I've been working all day on the laptop so will definitely be spending time doing that. May even get into Football Manager on the PC again...

Well the guidance has changed in Wales so in my view people should follow that guidance. They are changing it for a reason.

I know that some will shout me down here, especially as I stopped commenting and even reading this thread months ago (as it's so depressing), but could this whole thread not be moved to another area? Maybe a 'non-festival' area? It's quite sad that anybody who stumbles across this looking for glastonbury chat is met with almost 2000 pages of negativity.

Very true.

I honestly can’t see much negativity at all towards the vaccine program on here. Most people here are unanimously happy about it if a little bit wary of the UK governments tendency to cock things up. 
 

Another aspect our country has done well on is the reporting of the stats, the gov.uk website has a very good depth of figures now.

It's honestly the best place to read about it - real, normal people and their opinions based on their lives, instead of far right caricatures or far left socialists on Twitter, Facebook comments etc.

I'd say a lot of people on this thread only visit the Glastonbury section of the forum.
