I’m convinced Public Service Broadcasting’s - Race for Space album is the best running music and I won’t be told otherwise.

Funny enough I had that as my running album a couple of weeks ago, first time I'd listened to it in ages. Works well when Go! is playing on the home stretch!

I had it on this morning after seeing this post. Enjoyed it.

What are other good running albums?

I've been working through different ones every time since Jan, using it as a chance to listen to different stuff, old and new. Ones that have stood out for me recently:

London Elektricity - Building Better Worlds

The Allergies - Say The Word

Manics - Everything Must Go

Offspring - Smash

Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets - SHYGA! The Sunlight Mound

Ran my unofficial marathon this morning. Was hoping to break 3.30 so very pleased with the time! Reliant on Garmin so can’t be 100% sure on distance being correct but should be fairly accurate.

Good effort there <will1, under 31/2 hrs without a crowd behind you is excellent stuff; I love the London Marathon, though last time I ran it was 2012 (PB at the age of 47)

Bugger me that's giving it some leather!

Thank you! I hate a few friends come and cheer me along at various points which was nice. On one hand I quite enjoyed the fact that there were no crowds - less intense. But I think the crowds definitely help towards the end!

I think the very flat route helped!

So travel is allowed again in wales so have had a run back in the place i grew up. Very hilly it was too so started with a 5k with 250m maximum elevation (basically ran uphill for 2.5k and downhill for the rest). No idea how this rates compared to some of the extreme hill rubbing done on her do but would be interested to find out.

Great work there Shakey. Here in Pilton you can’t run more than a mile without going uphill. I have a great 3 mile loop that goes up and down and up and down constantly. It follows the roads in the village, so you are never far from home. Certainly helps the cv and makes the weekly runs feel easier.

Finally got back out for a run after five months break, stopped running last year when it got too dark and cold, and then any motivation to start again disappeared. After a breathless 5km today, I’ve signed up to do the Bristol half marathon in September. Always find it easier when I’m training for something, aiming for sub 1hr 50mins.

Love the Bristol 1/2, one of my first when i took up running over 25 years ago; fond memories. Good luck with the summer training 👍😎

Managed a 10 miler this morning, second one this week, I'm quite impressed how my stamina has slowly built back up over the past 6 months; I love winter training, not that I'm training for anything 😊

After discussing headphones on here a couple of months back and after lots of online review studying I took the plunge and went for Apple AirPods Pro. Been wearing them in round the house but treated them to their first run today and got my 2021 5k pb which was pleasing! Really chuffed with the headphones, was a bit nervous running past drains to start with incase they fell out but a solid performance and great sound. Recommend

Today’s was Parallel Lines by Blondie, I quite like using runs to listen to albums in full or however long the run takes! Will often try to match the album or playlist to the speed of run I’m attempting. Hadn’t planned a particularly fast one today just felt really good as I got going.

Good going with the 10 miler, I’m trying to build up my weekly distances hoping for a half marathon effort soon

I don't miss running with a 'jog proof' CD walkman, how tech has moved on 😄

Only thoight this the other day when The Cult came on my playlist. Theirs was a favourite of mine to put in my walkman. Think i had to stop and turn it over after about 30mins. That or do this whilst running which always slowed things down. Oh and walkman was hand held. Sweaty by end of play!

Anyone back on the group exercise today? I've got football at 3pm but currently not really looking forward to it (maybe due to drinks yesterday). Hopefully I'll get into it once I'm out in the sun. At least it's been expanded to 11-a-side, so hopefully I can hang around at the back doing relatively little!

Football training tomorrow which I'm very excited about, no group exercise planned today probably a 6pm 15km run though.

7 a side booked in for Thursday (then block booked until August). This is honestly the most excited I’ve been for anything in a long time - even treated myself to some new Mundials!

It will be the social aspect as well as the football and exercise itself, add in the warmer weather and lighter nights and I couldn’t be happier!! And in a few weeks we can have a pint outside after it at the pub over the road!

Ah nice, we are on Weds. You going to see mates again? The London/Kent FA has, in all its wisdom, cancelled the league but kept the cups - with both cup matches being the next two Sats with no friendlies first! You?

Just managed to get through an hour without disgracing myself (kept a clean sheet) but the standard was poor. Got twinges in both legs despite moving as little as humanly possible. Slightly worried as the game I've signed up for tomorrow, I think they were all students and they were young/fit/good (could be a tad humiliating).

Rugby back on tonight.  Still no contact of course, but I think (?) we're allowed to go back to the revised touch rugby format we had back in September time.

Be interesting to see how all the running will translate to the stop / start sprinting again!
