Bit torn on this. That's got to be a near cert for Glastonbury. I made the mistake of seeing Tame Impala in London, then Glastonbury, within a week last year. It did definitely take something away from the latter. Would be gutted if I didn't get a ticket, then they had a bad clash at Glastonbury.

They’ll be in the South West a week later...

Hope so anyway as I can’t make either London night - going to see England at the Euros on the Friday, then GnR in Tottenham on the Saturday.

I had to scurry and read my calendar after reading this. Fuck it, going to try for the Friday date. It'd mean Idles, Rammstein, My Chemical Romance back-to-back-to-back, with the Euros on Tuesday and off to Glastonbury on Wednesday. Yes please.

If tried that I’m pretty sure there’d be a divorce waiting for me when I got back on the Monday.

My bigger risk would be a complete inability to cope with that many late nights on the bounce. So very very sleepy just thinking about it.

I would have expected a Bristol date. I wonder if they'll announce once at a later date, maybe like a small 1 day event that Idles headline.

There's been rumblings of such a thing for a while now, not sure when it'll be though with everything going on.

To be honest I had two bottles of beer whilst sat on the sofa watching the football last night and I feel tired this morning...

I honestly don't know how I'm going to manage when gigs start again.

Looks like tickets are £28.50 before fees for Glasgow which is pretty reasonable. I think I might give this tour a miss, I’ve not been too into the new songs I’ve heard and I’ll hopefully just catch them at Primavera or Glastonbury. Saying that, it’s hard to turn down a Saturday night Barrowlands gig.

It's understandable that there's no Bristol date or nearby as they've outgrown those sized venues now. This is why Bristol desperately needs an arena or at least something bigger than the Academy/FKA Colston Hall. Acts reach a certain size, having moved up the various small to mid-sized venues in the city, and then have nowhere else to play.

Anyway, Cardiff's not far and it's pretty intimate as far as arenas go. Had some decent nights there last year with Pixies, Liam Gallagher & Marina.

    • Surely nowadays with so much data analytics available on every division in world football and so much awareness that people aren't suckered in on the basis of a decent World Cup game... right?   Although tbf, from what I saw, Australia's game plan worked very well. But that was as much thanks to Turkey blowing varying opportunities given they created enough chances but couldn't finish, a la what happened with Switzerland against Qatar when they really could and should've won by 3/4 goals.
    • I missed Viagra Boys for a good spot for Gorillaz. Was a nice weekend and festival for me. Would definitely come back, if the line up is right. Get back home safe everyone.
    • The Last Temptation - new Heaven 17 documentary film directed by James Strong. Premiered at Sheffield Docfest this weekend.    I really enjoyed it. Affectionate, insightful, and honest. A nice mix of archival and footage, interviews and clips from the last tour. Martyn and Glenn are like an old married couple.   Plus a snippet of news from the Q&A, Martyn is recording new BEF material, and Phil Oakey has collaborated on the one of tracks. The film shows them meeting in Fagans for the first time in over 35 years.
    • Glad I’ve still got it booked off for my 50th
    • That would be perfect!
