Last night was awesome! I stupidly didn't familiarise myself with the new album before I went so didn't enjoy the new stuff quite as much, but they sounded great and played all the bangers. Loved it. From a selfish point of view, it was also great that it wasn't too busy as I had room to dance down the front for once!

You're in for a treat tonight.

Please can we have them back on West Holts?

They played what was essentially a greatest hits set when I saw them at Ally Pally on the last tour, so happy for them to mix it up a little bit!

II went to that too and had a cracking time, when they played Sabotage at the end it was euphoric

cheers for the feedback all! Glad it was a good night. Hot Chip always deliver live!

Noticed slliiiightly different setlists which is good, nice to see they don't play it song for song each night.

will report back after tonite!

Have a great one! I left with a huge grin on my face. One of those gigs.

They were so good weren’t they, agreed the extra space was very welcome!

really hope they’re at Glastonbury again next year, surely in with a decent chance given the new album and tour

Great show last night, enjoy anyone going to the final one! Met some hot chip ultras as we left who flew in to do all 4 nights!

Loved the version of boy from school that they did 🙂

It was Hot Chip doing Hot Chip… they are so consistently good.

it was great to hear their new material live, there are a couple of complete bangers that will only enhance the live set going forward.

Freakout/Release is a great opener, shifting Huarache Lights to the encore… perhaps I would have put Down In the encore in place of Out of my Depth to really keep the tempo up..

Hung Up (another superb cover… they are just brilliant at choosing these live bangers!) into a reworked Over and Over was immense…

per @Zoo Music Girlwe went to the front rail left of stage during the support without issue… the bar areas at the back were rammed…

Those going tonight are in for a real treat… Get your dancing shoes on !

Hung Up was great - good shout that.

enjoy all going tonight, residencies like this are fun as a lot of us end up going (esp when £20) so we can all compare nights 🙂

    • I've come across a few this weekend saying Deftones aren't big enough for Download.   I would recommend b&b hotel hbf the night before....cheap, comfortable and very decent. Within 10 minutes from the station and a tram stop outside to jump on...all travel is free during the festival time as well with a kombi. Lidl is very good and cheap I can't lie....€6 for a chair with carey handle, €20 with a bag too...you can work that out yourself.   If you camp, get up at 5am and go to the queue....literally don't question it as now I know.     The travel wise part is easy when you get the hang of it and I've never had an easier exit from a festival today tbh. We were camped in the turn left section but past the registration and to get water you have to come right out.   Opening up an exit through he camp at least by Friday morning when everyobe is there would be much better but you csnt walk through general if you're green and sonon.   I think the issue for me probably too is I have never taken like a mutliple litre water too, I've always done a 6 pack water from like poundland lol but you definitely need it. I had one shower that was cold lol   Talking of getting into the front, Volbeat was the only easy one, for Maiden and especially Linkin Park if you weren't in the queue for it by at least the last quarter ot Architects you had no hope....it was shocking. I do like orbit to sit down. I had to decide to sack off Within Temptation too or no chance.   Second stage biggest gripe is the faff of walking all the way round when VIP or whatever it is literally get access to each bit. I did read tbh before going people though RIP/Ring was turning too much the wrong way.   Also as a side note, caught some of Limp Bizkit last night too and they are not headliner but any distance at all. Yes they pull a crowd...they would do with LP finished but on the grand scale its a super weak booking. Stop, start for video recordings all the way through a headline set?, 1hr 15 minutes and you can't play for that time. I'm so glad they were not chosen to headline main.   On another thing, if RIP played it right they'll get GC and Avril to sub/second stage headline on the Blink day.   Toilets and cleanliness is a big plus I will say that.
    • Any of the likes of Keo, Basht. and Cardinals could all fit in here.  Although they’re the sort of bands that could fit many of the stages at Glastonbury
    • Glasto loves a come back act - how about the Rapture?
    • Yeah mentioned in the park thread but feel more Woodsies to me
