As i said on another thread the other day, I have a rule that I'm only allowed to visit each food stall once. Gets me out of my Goan Fish kedgeree/aussie steak sandwich/other stage pad thai rut. Also makes me look around a bit more. Lots of places start off good but rest on their laurels after a few years.

Yeah, I always tell myself I'll be a bit more adventurous, wander around for ages and end up with chips. I'm an awkward one, a fat veggie who doesn't like mushrooms but was brought up on stodge. I must've been about 28 by the time I found out I actually like veggie staple stuff like spinach, butternut squash, falafell, hummous, haloumi..

Anyway, food..

Manic Organic do a great breakfast.

Ghandi's Flipflop is always good.

Fluffy Rock Cafe is no frills food wise, but nice decent sized tent where you can sit and eat. Never had a cocktail there for some reason, that can change.

Last year my best meal was a falafel wrap from a stall right by the Greenpeace field... some kind of Indian street food??? Also always make the trip to the Park to find Strumpets for Crumpets (raspberry jam with a mountain of butter.. yes). And the samosa stall (Other stage) has been a meeting point with friends in the past so usually get a few of those, the lamb ones! ❤️

No Bones Jones is an absolute must eat, I eat there for my 1st and last meal of the festival, its a huge plate of veggie greatness and their veggie fritters are incredible.

I also highly recommend the raclette stall by the cider bus to satisfy the hunger after a few hot and spicy ciders!

Ha, I have exactly the same routine. Though it was a dark day in 2016 when I think their frier had broken just prior to the festival starting so there were... weep... no fritters for the whole festival!

Can we also have a moment of silence for the departed Señor Moon, who used to proved delicious veggie burgers with delicious spiced potato wedges for a very reasonable price by the Jazzworld stage. Still annoys me they got rid of this place for no reason- they didn't even replace it with anything, there's just an empty space where it used to be!

Goan Fish Curry (although had a few this year and there didn't seem to be as much fish in it)

No Bones Jones

Buddha Bowl

Had an excellent pizza in 2017 but I've no idea where I got it from.

and there was a stall, which must have been somewhere in Silver Hayes, selling chips with cheese and gravy which became my go to snack walking back to Darble every night.

The finest chips used to be at the Hippy Chippy, the first year or so they were there- you got tonnes in a box and they were cooked to perfection. However they seemed to undergo some horrific cut backs the following year, and resorted to using the cheapest potatoes they could find ( a lot of them green), drastically reduced the portions in a paper cone, and just cooked them badly- they were rank- such a tragic fall from grace!

    • Not necessarily but it should be, Download have a habit of messing it uo when others get the bookings on point. Good Charlotte I doubt are playing 3rd down and that too 3 that day while dreamy is too strong. I think you'd have one another day to help sell weekend tickets. I also doubt Papa Roach play.

    • Another Kraftwerk one for me today, as just back from seeing them.
    • Completed my 2026 survey. Put down Super Furry Animals as my most wanted for next year but suspect the moment has gone for that. Popped a big shopping list in the box for who else you would like to see. 🙂
