Thanks both, we’ve ended up settling on the Big Green Coach from across the Pennines, £40 return. Too much hassle and too pricey to stay in Manchester city centre on a bank hol weekend!

Think the trains run from Manchester Airport overnight, but as it's a bank holiday and that line is being upgraded it's likely not to be closed.

Good point actually, we would have gone from Huddersfield to Manchester by train but there’s a decent chance it’ll be shut. My other half can barely get the train from Huddersfield to Leeds for work at the moment!

Went for Paul Heaton tickets at the o2 in the pre-sale this morning, at my wife's request (I do like him and enjoyed his 2024 set, but wasn't sure re the o2).  Anyhows, while caveated 20ish quid of fees were added to the total, £39.50 tickets are refreshingly cheap when compared to other gigs there!

Says a lot about the way this venue is going in particular that I had that feeling when Wolf Alice charged under £50 for their shows there in December. Feels like you very rarely get tickets at the O2 under £75 at present.

Yep, looking back at gigs i've been to there in last 3 yrs or so with fees

New Order, Liam Gallagher both almost £80

Pulp last year almost £90

Paul Heaton £50

All standing bar LG that was a seat cheaper than general standing.

I know not directly comparable, and know a festival ticket is a chunk of money for folk, but it does put into perspective the 'relative' value of, say, a Glastonbury ticket given the number of sets etc. that affords.

His Bramall Lane stadium show was the same pricing last year. A man of great  benevolence in the ticketing stakes. Huge respect.

£112 for standard entry. No thank you.

i don't care about Janet Jackson one way or the other - but her show on the farm was one of the most laughably bad things i have ever seen.

Meanwhile Gracie Abrams is £92 for the cheapest with the average price around £160 for lower tier and £103 standing.

First time in a while I've gone from a definite yes to a definite no on price alone.

Amble was £31 this morning.

good move - got to start saying No to these prices or nothing will change
