biggest publicity, tho.

I've just declined to do news on it, to give the time instead to other things which don't have built-in blanket publicity.

I find it weird that Festival Republic/Melvin Benn was in the press talking about this Scone Palace thing a few months back if it was gonna be a BBC Music thing. Do they always work like that?

He did say the type of music would be "middle of the road and classical", which sounded bizarre until today.

How have people not heard of Nigel Kennedy? I think his star may have faded in recent years but he was huge, probably still is in classical music circles.

Anyhoo, for those who weren't listening to Radio 2 this morning, Perth & Coventry are one day Radio 2 and one day Radio 3 each. Noel playing Perth only on the Saturday (a little pissed off that it clashes with the Champions League final), Coventry have Billy Ocean headlining above Snow Patrol :D

£18.00 a ticket plus £4.50 booking fee.

Ahh, different stations are doing each one are they? Missed that, thanks.

yep. Belfast is 6 Music, Perth (day one) is Radio 3, Perth (day two) is Radio 2, Swansea is Radio 1, Coventry (day one) is Radio 2 and Coventry (day two) is Radio 3. Disappointed there's no Radio 4 day tbh.

Remember when this was touted as a Glastonbury replacement? Jesus Christ.

The BBC only ever said it was replacing Glastonbury in their live music programming, which is the worst possible way that it could be replaced for Glasto punters. Don’t think it’s their fault that the NME and co. ran with the ‘Glastonbury replacement’ tag and people didn’t bother actually reading it. :P

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
