They might have discussed it and agreed Noel making an appearance would have fucked with Liam's nascent solo career pretty badly.

Absolutely, but isn't that putting money/ego/ areer before far, far more important things?  They could've proved a point and an important one right now imo.

Seemed alright besides for live forever, but if you compare it to how he used to sing it was so unique. So once he repair his vocal chords it makes sense it doesn't sound great.
