Horrendous:( It always seems like it's happening somewhere else until it happens close to home.

I live 5 mins away and can hear nothing but sirens and police choppers circling ahead.

My apartment block backs onto an old disused car park where they're starting building a new apartment block, couple of nights in the last week we heard a loud bang and saw a loud flash late at night, I said to my other half at the time it sounded and looked like someone exploded a bomb out there - should probably go to the police tomorrow as they might have been doing a test run.

An eyewitness that was just on BBC radio (via their Twitter) thinks it may have been a shooting. A few contradicting reports online. It is scary the world we live in.

This is terrible news. Obviously we have no idea on what has happened yet, I don't expect we will have a clear outlook on that till morning!

Agreed too early to say. Some suggestions that the deaths are due to crush injuries in the panic. Videos showing folks running out, mostly just kids.

Report on telly saying lots of young uns there on their tod (without parents probably with friends). Imagine parents were outside waiting. Fucking terrifying.

Fuckjng horrible. As a parent who's took little ones as well as dropped their teenager off for a gig and waited at the MEN I can't even imagine the utter dread & panic they're all going through.

    • Wasn't just me who thought it was either oversold or inadequately setup for the event then? For Pride, over the weekend, where there's also acts in the large blue marquee that was to the right of the "arena" (for want of a better term), it's probably much better as people are dispersed more. Thought the band were great, as was Nick, though he was clearly struggling with his voice at times.
    • I got in for £11.25 in the end, which was absolutely ridiculously good value, and made the queues and overselling of the venue much more tolerable! Sniping in on other people’s unwanted tickets on the day of an event might become my new hobby I think 🥳
    • Ann and Nancy Wilson are planning a final world tour for HEART starting next year. They were never at Glastonbury. They should do it.
    • sub yes I could see but I don't think they get 1hr 15, a headliner starting at 18:15 though is unlikely. Even the recent co-headlines that have had like 1hr 15 then a 1hr 30 after were on 8pm or just before, you are trailing behind more than 1.5 hours then. In that scenario some 3rd down bands are only starting at 18:15 and some haven't lol. I agree they won't not book them due to this but it won't be 6 headliners. It would be 5 headliners and you wouldn't want to see 5 headliners booked but Biffy were to not be thouhgt of as an option for one. Wolf Alice on the other hand could sub no bother and you'd think nothing of it. I'm not so sure Biffy would get headline though after the festival choice in Kendal this year.
