First night food

Now when I used to camp is was always a Wednesday night BBQ, meet the neighbours share stuff round have a little camp site party.

i have now evolved into a campervan east caravan dweller, again we BBQ and meet the neighbours.

However this year we are thinking of cooking a big batch of Chilli to heat up once we are there and some crusty bread etc.

Anyone else have any first night food rituals or advice?

Going to do chicken, bacon, leek pie. Do the juicy bits at home and some crunched-up filo pastry on top in caravan

 

Served with a side of light ales!

Probably a BBQ but our first day tradition is pre mixed pimms, usually a couple of 2 little bottles for the 2 of us but planning on doing 4 this year and inviting the neighbours, if we get in at a reasonable time on the Tuesday this year of course.

plannng on doing a couple of vodka infusions as well

A big dollop of MDMA washed down with some rum. Might then chew my own face for a few hours.

Might sneak in a paella or something first, who knows.

A solid diet of lager, rum and bollocks at the efest meet. Wouldn't swap it for anything

Always get a bacon roll to start off with, then a steak & cheese baguette from that Aussie steak place.

Surely @eastynh is supplying dessert anyway? Or is that wishful thinking in hoping Murdoch kops it as soon as possible.
