Who would have thought that Kate Moss’s ex-husbands band would be headlinig Glastonbury?

Fair play to ‘em.

Alright, I’ll play along.

What are you talking about, James Hince is the guitarist with The Kills not The Killers. ?

Can't really see him playing on the Saturday now.

Friday Pyramid opener.

Dammit Neil got my hopes up with a ?

I think Cure Killers Stormzy would be pretty disappointing after a year out.

Personally I'm fine with that, like both The Killers and The Cure although I'd only be seeing some of The Cure due to Janelle anyway.

Yeah, exactly. That is not a world class set of headliners. Might cut it for Latitude, but not Glastonbury.

If it doesn't cut it then go elsewhere.

The idea that we are somehow entitled to absolute mega stars on a budget is ridiculous. Yes it isn't the strongest set of headliners but in a year where others have George Ezra or a fucking Gallagher brother we could be doing worse

Christ I hope there are some decent options on the other stages. Other Stage rumours aren’t exactly filling me with hope at the moment, and Janelle is clashing with the one headliner I want to see.

y u do dis glastonbury?!

Yeah it's a bit of a poor show at the moment innit?

Don't worry tho, as we speak I'm consulting my grimoire for a spell that'll put Robyn on Saturday night and Erykah Badu on Sunday night. We'll laugh about all of this nonsense in a few weeks.

Don’t you wanna see The Cure or Janelle Monae?

Hopefully they've got bored of the 'lets pick a fan out the crowd to play a song' seemed like they did it at every festival last Summer. Saw them at Rock Werchter and it ended up being someone who was presumably holding drum sticks for the first time, resulting in Flowers stopping the song and telling him to 'get off the f***ing stage', completely killed the atmosphere.

All irrelevant if Chemical Brothers play Other same night anyway cause I'll be making a show of myself to The Salmon Dance by then.

I hope he does that to Liam Gallagher.

Oh man, this was the go-to line for teachers in school when young Lawn remonstrated about the enforcement of some ridiculous rule. How you gonna put me in naughty kid jail for having a haircut you don't like, Mr Watson? How short I have my hair affects nobody but me. "Those are the rules" he would say, "if you don't like the rule then you can go to another school". You're just avoiding meaningful discourse, Mr Watson! (I never said that to him).

If you dont like rampant late stage capitalism then go and live in North Korea and see how you like it, hippy.

The Killers and The Cure are a pretty poor set of headliners in 2019 imo. Mid level festival stuff.

I think The Killers headlined most major fests last year and The Cure are doing the same this summer. If anything, it’s too unadventurous. If you think it’s too weak, your expectations were way too high and you were gonna get hit with this eventually.

Liam came on somewhere with the Killers last year didn't he? South America maybe

Latitude, I was there. LG did a secret set in the BBC tent earlier on the Saturday and then he came on with The Killers and mumbled something about being too mullered to perform and went off again, from memory leabing Brandon to sing an Oasis B side (badly)

nope, not yet.

Probly still Neil Young headlining on Saturday then innit? I'd say just pop a TBC next to his name now and save yourself the time later really.

I'm at peace with the state of play on the Pyramid, when you look at it rationally there really aren't too many options to pick from.

Heritage acts:

  • Macca - Active but seemingly happy to play US dates instead
  • Fleetwood Mac - Active but asking a fortune
  • Madonna - Rumoured to be active soon, but very, very expensive
  • The Eagles - Active, expensive, most people only know one or two songs
  • U2 - Not active, shat the bed last time
  • The Who - Three times in twelve years would be taking the piss
  • Prince - Too dead

Contemporary acts:

  • Gaga - Seemingly happy in Vegas
  • Arctic Monkeys - Back in hiding after TBHC bombed
  • The Strokes - Active, but haven't been a GF headliner since 9/11
  • Arianna Grande - In America
  • Taylor Swift - Not active
  • Kendrick - Ditto
  • Led Zeppelin - Not a band
  • Oasis - Also not a band
  • The 1975 - Doing Reading/Leeds
  • Foals - No chance
  • Kings of Leon - Hahahahahahahahahahaha!
  • Florence - Done it too recently
  • Blur - Damon has 429 other projects going on

nicely summarised

Well I'm not sure I'd bother watching The Killer myself as they were a festival staple at V (when I used to go), so seen them so many times now.... Casual crowd will love the singalong, especially with Liam subbing those Oasis hits too..

I have still to get a ticket yet, wonder if this trio will make it harder or easier??

    • The Great Fete Festival (Sunday Only) Ocean Colour Scene day on Tickets For Good.
    • I was also at Ghost but seated. When they scanned my ticket's and they came up as seated they printed a small ticket with the seat number info.
    • I was standing for Ghost at O2 London last year where they put the phone in a pouch beforehand so I assume they're is a mechanism in place for people in seats.
    • Most likely not, keeping an eye on Tixel and Twickets might be the best option.
