She does, but they've been out long enough that people who really want to go will be aware and have bought a ticket. A Glasto announcement might even give her a little extra push.

I'd say that's not how it tends to work. If there's tickets elsewhere to be sold, the promoters of those shows will want as little competition over sales as they can get.

Glasto won't be pushing for an early announcement, and I reckon Kylie's been around long enough to know that promoters expect the artist to be supportive of the shows they've been booked for rather than undermine them.

The Cribs, The Charlatans, James, etc. filled the field. Noel’s a considerably larger draw than any of those.

Dude they didn't, I was there for the last two and while there were people all over the field, it was nowhere near full. I walked virtually in a straight line to about 20m from the front for both.

if the fest thought there would be an issue, they'd balance things with decent competition on other stages.

It could be done, whether they'd do it is another thing.

I generally find listening to radio shows where (a) the DJ is younger than me (b) they refer to new releases as “drops” and (C) refer to listeners as “you guys” hard enough at the best of times - this programme ticks all the fucking boxes and more.

Emily better announce The Beatles as Friday night West Holts headliners with Mozart as the Other Stage opener to make all of this worthwhile.

*insert Old Man Yells at Cloud gif*

What annoys me the enthusiasm the the youth has, when will they learn . life is shit and you die.. there is only room for happiness once a year at Glastonbury. apart from that it's Hell on earth

They won't.

I'm willing to bet a pint of cider (or equivalently priced beverage of choice) with the first three punters who reply that Noel Gallagher will not open the Other stage next year.

Would that be Noel effectively agreeing he's a fading or second division star accepting that slot?

Posting for cider.

    • Thom Yorke will be releasing new music this year. Would be amazing to have him (his 2019 Tomorrow's Boxes tour was stellar). Ed O Brien can also play a small set. Could be lovely.   Can see Fontaines DC headlining next year (if Mad Cool doesn't get them). Is Raye edgy enough for this? She's amazing live but maybe not a 'Primavera name'?   Hoping for a return of Run The Jewels (rumored to be working on something new?) Fred Again is a good shout as wel.
    • Other than the very challenging hours of the storm (and PS's terrible mismanagement), I thought weekend was fantastic. Main highlights on Thursday - Blood Orange and Ahadadream>>Bambi>>BenUFO run at Plentitude right after the storm which were all a blast, Friday -  Avalanches DJ set (only played for an hour but could've continued for another two as far as we were concerned), The Cure (amazing show and his expression right at the end of the show which was caught on screen was very special) and on Saturday - Baxter Dury (seen him twice before but he has become a real performer, band was tight too). We accidentelly bumped into him in the VIP area later and he was so humble and modest and generous to us that I completely fell for him) and Smerz (especially the last 3 songs). Also loved BCNR at Parallel62 on Sunday. Crushed to have missed Overmono. Can't wait for next year.
    • well, the attack was in a republican area...
    • huge interpol fan here and saw them a lot but cannot recall they did Primavera Barca the last 3 years?
    • I love Interpol but also a bit bored of them being on the lineup every other year.    Radio Dept were announced for Pitchfork London in November...
