If the Manics are playing, and were left off the poster, it feels a bit Other-Openery

I agree, but their big show in Bristol went on sale on Friday so would be another reason for them to be left off.

Yeah, I'm not convinced it isn't an error.

I don't think opening the Other on the Friday should be considered dropping down though - it's not like you are first on by your standing, it's now always a bigger band than the slot will demand on a Saturday or Sunday.

But we haven't had many suggestions as the Friday opener.

I think it is a bit, I couldn't see James, Kaiser Chiefs at all at that time or Beady Eye headlining Victorious for example, I know Noel did but his day showed throughout why that was too high a booking and the fact he played a smaller set too.

I think there is a difference between playing 3rd down Other/JP headliner if you like and opening up. Manics at 3rd down that year was also a very strong year for the fest as well.

Banco de Gaia confirmed on his facebook.

"I can finally confirm that I will be appearing at Glastonbury this year. I'll be playing at least once, it will be solo or DJ, not with the band this time. More details once they are finalised. Phew, I was worried I wouldn't get to see Barry Gibb! "

Not quite a self confirm, but Louis Berry liked my tweet asking about Glastonbury. Hopefully it's a good shout for him being there this year.

Was in response to his saying his tour had ended but would be on festival circuit

I hope so. I was looking at his tour dates just the other day hoping for signs of a Glasto appearance.

Went to see Dutch psychedelic voodoo blues outfit 'My Baby' in Newcastle last night.

They played several sets around the place in the 2015 festival. Chatting with the band post gig I asked if they were likely to returning to the farm this year, they are promoting a new album.

Their answer was 'probably', as I left they said 'maybe see you at Glastonbury'.

Hope they appear up on the final line up somewhere, great band and nice bunch of people.

    • Same here, or Def Leppard, in fact any heavy rock would do me, but Mrs C wants Robbie or DD. Our glasto negotiations what to see are usually interesting😊😉😊

    • I'd be up for some Bon Jovi in this slot
    • It must be the only slot they haven’t already played. Expect them to be running the dodgems next year.
    • Same drama as last year but got there in the end.  Had to purchase one ticket at a time, still worked out around 15 euros cheaper per 3 day pass than last year though so no complaints!
