TheRedSeat
Happy to lump the Glastonbury running club in with the people that run on Christmas Day. Have a day off. You'll be fine.
clarkete
Perhaps it could be performed as a beer mile? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beer_mile

rubenz
I don't think it's safe to exercise when drunk or hungover so on that basis I'll probably have to give it a miss for health and safety reasons
SwedgeAntilles
Sounds rubbish.
NinjaJihad
I know it sounds crazy but some people actually run for.....fun, myself included. There is little chance of me doing this though, purely down to the state I will be in from Wednesday night. If, however, I was tee total or even just sensible. I would be all over this. I bet it's a right laugh.
Dave F.
Each to their own of course, but if you've the spare energy (even on a Thursday) then, I my opinion, your doing Glastonbury wrong. 37 minutes ago, TheRedSeat said: Happy to lump the Glastonbury running club in with the people that run on Christmas Day. Have a day off. You'll be fine. Christmas Day is a great day for running/cycling etc. The roads & trails are so blissfully quiet of people & yapping dogs. It's Boxing Day that should be avoided, with it's once a year country 'walkers'.
Purple aki squat
I thought this was a phillipa's van thread as misread jogging.
ceetee
If you like the idea of running around the site, but not during the festival, there is always this - http://www.piltonvillage.co.uk/festival-run.html
phil the shrew
Sounds quite a fun way to see the site. Normally very quiet at that time of day and so won't be that crowded and assuming it's good weather be a nice route to see the site. Even with my slow running only 30 minutes out of the day
robin
If anyone wants to do a parkrun then there will be one in Shepton Mallett starting at the end of April. Could have a couple of miles jog there from the site, do the parkrun and run back again before the first act starts.http://www.parkrun.org.uk/sheptonmallet/

I've ran along the A361 from Pilton to the Bath and West showground (almost in Shepton), some of the roads are pretty dangerous. I wouldn't recommend it. Lesson learnt don't try to run at the festival
simian_mobile_mushrooms
Jesus, after a 5k run after an even longer day of partying I'd have to shower for a solid 20 min before I'm acceptable again for the public. I'd be a greasey mess, horrible
whateverman
Some people don't seem to realise that exercise and maintaining fitness are hugely enjoyable to some folk. Having said that, I really can't see a place for formal exercise at Glasto, as the festival itself is such an effective and thorough workout. I have to train in the gym for weeks just so that I have a chance of lasting the festival somewhat intact (seriously).

adamg1602
Jogging at Glastonbury is just showing off.. Crazy idea
tom22
I went for a run round the site in 2014 on the Friday (or maybe Saturday?) can't remember. I always get up early without an alarm and don't really get hangovers. Nice way to see the site whilst everyone else is sleeping. Have always taken trainers with intentions of doing it more often, but not always that easy to do. Much less fun in the mud!
deebeedoobee
I run around the site most of the year. The festival is my holiday from running. All the walking makes up for it. Anyway, it would seem far too busy for me. The only people to see me run at worthy are the cows, sheep and Michael.

DropBeat
You have your whole life to jog, but only a precious few days to lose yourself completely at Glastonbury. Each to their own I guess!
42hamlet
It's an incredibly odd sight when returning from the SE corner at 6-7am in a foggy stupor seeing a bunch of joggers getting up for the day when you haven't even been to sleep yet For this reason it should be banned, it's not natural to see joggers when you're about to turn in for "the night"
whateverman
If people are truly trying to get their heads around it, then figure that for some a bit of daily exercise is like brushing your teeth or taking a dump; it's not optional.
