are there any other festivals left to announce who could realistically have booked Radiohead? is Latitude at all a possibility what with Thom's frequent visits/secret sets? the glee that i felt when seeing they weren't announced for Bestival was second to none

i think that was a bit of a ploy to cover up the fact they'd booked a shit headliner who had subbed the previous year. "it's disco theme - we couldn't not book Chic again"

IoW still have a headliner to announce.

certainly wouldn't be out of character for them to throw money at an act for an exclusive. perhaps a slight bit "out there" for an IoW headliner, but you never know....

yeah i didn't even bother mentioning IOW as it just doesn't seem like their type of headliner, especially side by side with Queen, Faithless and Stereophonics. who IOW have got though is a mystery - i'm still leaning towards Guns N Roses

I think the biggest threat to Radiohead playing Glastonbury isn't them playing other U.K. Festivals, but playing none at all

They could still be playing Bestival, but that seems pretty unlikely at the moment given Radiohead's recent announcements.

in my eyes it's only Glastonbury and Latitude that are the realistic possibilities - V's target market has changed so much there's no way they'd even consider Radiohead these days. Bestival would've announce them outright; there's no reason to hold them back what with them announcing festivals constantly. R/L i just don't see at all - i believe they only did it in 2009 as they wanted to try out some other festivals that weren't Glastonbury. TITP i also don't see as the attendees have changed

they'd be a much bigger headliner than Latitude has ever had, but what with them booking Noel last year they're clearly trying to up the game, plus Thom has done a couple of secret sets etc there over the past few years so it could've been under the agreement that Radiohead headline on their next album cycle

but hopefully it's just Glastonbury

Which doesn't definitely suggest they'll be playing any uk festivals, it's definitely an option just now

yeah them not doing any festivals is definitely a realistic possibility, but if that's the case they better tour the hell out of the UK later on

I suspect the festival announcements weren't really Radiohead's own doing - festivals have to announce their line ups in sufficient time to sell tickets - most don't operate via a Glasto model. Obviously given the quick succession of announcements involving Radiohead they would have co-ordinated it with the band but it was probably the latest time the festivals would want to announce. 

But whether that means an announcement from the band itself is imminent is another matter - they've been as silent as ever.

as much as I would love Radiohead to headline I am going to try not to get my hopes up. I will just end up depressing myself when its announced as the trio we've been talking about.
