Neil's source on Radiohead who has been right every time they've been there, including the 'secret' set at The Park a few years back has said for months that they'd be there but weren't headlining

Anything else?

my only worry is that source said this once "months ago"....and not "has said for months" as in he's been reconfirming it every month since....or did i miss something

i mean...overall, i'm not really worried...it's happening...

I was telling a mate who was questioning my continued belief that they'll play the circumstantial evidence we have that at the moment, have I missed anything out?

One of Bastille told someone ages ago they were subbing Disclosure on the Friday night
Loaded (who are normally a decent source for Glasto rumours) have said all along that the Other headliners were likely to be Disclosure/New Order/BMTH while Neil has heard from the journalist that the most unlikely of the three was probably BMTH

Ahh. Love a good RH rumour roundup.

I was under the impression Neil had heard something fresh last week that he believes could suggest they are subbing Adele.

As far as I'm aware it's been a while since their last contact (I remember Neil saying he thought he might have pissed the source off by questioning the info given his record) but that was after Neil had already checked it a couple of times, with the info remaining the same each time.

The only reason I didn't mention that it because Neil was rather vague about it (understandably) it probably wouldn't mean much to someone who's not a regular poster on here.

But, aye, for us, that was Defcon 3

There aren't enough Defcon levels to fully describe that day last week.

Tentative list:

1. OK Computer

2. In Rainbows

3. Kid A

4. A Moon Shaped Pool

5. The Bends

6. Hail To The Thief

7. Amnesiac

8. The King Of Limbs

9. Pablo Honey

I agree with the assessments in here that the new album is like a cross between In Rainbows and Amnesiac, but I'd throw in some HTTT as well (maybe just because of Ful Stop). Hearing this HTTT vibe has made me realise I haven't listened to HTTT in fucking ages; even the songs I love from that album. Gonna have to give it another go in the next day or two. It's very close to The Bends in my rankings.

that's not quite correct. He said they were playing, but had no idea if that was headlining or not.

I have spoken again with matey a few times since and he still believes its happening, tho I'm not entirely clear if that's based on the one bit of info form a long time ago or if he had heard something more. The manner of his contact about a month ago suggested he knew something more bit he wasn't saying.

I still think he's more likely to right than wrong.

Brilliant, thanks again Neil.

Your dedication to this for a band you're not even that fussed about is commendable!

I wonder if they are announced as playing the new album in full only - no hits or singles - would that significantly reduce the crowd? Maybe meaning it doesn't have to be Pyramid or bust?

They can then come back and headline properly next year!

Nah, the new album's been hugely successful with fans/critics, and it's still Radiohead. I can't imagine them playing anywhere but Pyramid/Other and it not being a safety hazard

A daft theory:

It's billed on the Pyramid before Adele simply as "A Moon-Shaped Pool", and they do it with full orchestral accompaniment.

Then once they're done there's minimal switchover as the additional players hang around to play with Adele.

Bosh, everybody's happy (bar the poor sods over at New Order).

I'm still thinking a 90 minute 'special guests tba' set before Adele. It's our collective destiny.

Also, can anyone think of a better run of RH songs than Identikit, Numbers and Present Tense? Really hope that's side C of the LP. Is it better than Exit Music, Let Down and Karma Police? Can't decide.

That would get my vote.

As a whole I'd still say 15 Step, BodySnatchers, Nude is a better run personally! I like Identikit as much as any of those songs but the others not as much

The dream....

They headline the Other stage vs Coldplay

It wont happen, but it's the dream

That would be PERFECT! Frees up my Saturday night and removes my FloPo clash anxiety. Not in a million years would Emily do that to Mr Martin, mind.

I'm refusing to get my hopes up about them at Glastonbury. Saying that, if it isn't announced I will end up checking my phone all to often at the festival!

Despite gaining a bit of a (justified) reputation for being super planned for the festival, part of the joy for me is NO media contact, social or otherwise, for five precious days. Last year, all I heard about was the Circa Waves slot in BBC Introducing, and that was a text or word of mouth. I will have NO network connection again this year and am really happy about that. If that means I 'miss' something, be it RH or otherwise, then so be it. As I've said many times - was I having fun somewhere when I 'missed' X? If the answer is yes, then that's what the festival wanted for me.

    • People who're struggling are already priced out, so I don't think a bump in price will affect who attends. There'll still be a cross section, leaning young. I also think they'll do a soft breaking of the £400 ceiling, keeping the ticket price just below but having postage take it over. Next year the ticket itself will be over that threshold.

    • Not sure if this has been mentioned but new La Roux album out November - was meant to play in 2020 but hasn't found her way back onto a lineup. If any excuse just to hear this absolute banger on the fields next year!
    • Yeh, the quiet camping also seems to be on the same side (broadly) as the bits of the festival that go on the latest (Far Out / Chai Waalahs / RTT until 4am). We're always in Tangerine Fields which is right behind the main stage and as soon as that and Rising Stage are done it's pretty quiet (midnight onwards) which I'd guess is pretty similar if you can hack taking all your gear from the car past the big tree in the middle and into the campsites that side.
    • Can't see Bimble line up anywhere - am I being dense and missing an obvious release somewhere?
