not as good as i thought it'd be imo but the only thing really letting it down is the lack of big names on the sunday. Can see Haim headlining NME or being 3rd down on main, at a push.

Hate it when they announce with this style poster, what happened to the one Andy C had?

I'm guessing that's a later version as everyone on that was announced.

This is my 13th consecutive year and I do genuinely think this is the worst announcement since I've been there.

Of the new "alphabetical" bands announced, the only ones I've even heard of are:

Billy Talent, Circa Waves, Lethal Bizzle, Cabbage, Everything Everything, Frank Carter, Moose Blood, Sundara Karma, Charli XCX, Milky Chance, The Hunna & The Sherlocks

The only one who I would actually like to see that I haven't before is Moose Blood......

Am I just getting old or is the lineup just terrible?

To be fair, R&L are pretty good at booking acts that you may not necessarily heard, but will end up quite liking by August time. I'm still disappointed at this stage but I shouldn't really be too disheartened until I've given the lineup a more thorough run through.

Just looked through the press release there and there's no mention of any act being an exclusive, which for R&L is odd.

not even the ones they previously listed as exclusive in the big old list at the end, maybe they've just suddenly realised nobody falls for that shit any more and given up on it

Presumably we're looking at something like:

Kasabian / Bastille / Two Door Cinema Club / TBC / Jimmy Eat World / Mallory Knox / Rat Boy
You Me At Six / TBC / Circa Waves / Bear's Den

Eminem / Major Lazer / Korn / TBC / TBC / The Pretty Reckless
Flume / TBC / Glass Animals / Everything Everything

Muse / TBC / Haim / Blossoms / Giggs
Marshmello / Halsey / Wiley / Charlii XCX / The Hunna

?

Has anyone got the announcement from this time last year?

Im sure it looked grim at this stage but wasn't too bad by the time of the festival.

1st of march last year

I'm sure that it's just an error but there are a few discrepancies between the official website and the poster (Reading):

Counterfeit (Friday poster, Saturday website)
Jaguar Skills (Saturday poster, Sunday website)
Rex Orange County (Doesn't feature on the poster, Sunday website)

So going by that we might potentially have an NME closer still to come, but otherwise we know of everyone playing every major slot on the top two stages. Horrendous. Can't believe they haven't booked Skepta or Stormzy, they might be holding Skepta back to help Wireless but they haven't even announced Stormzy for that either yet.. god love FR

    • Tbf that happened to me in 2022 so not a one off. 40 euros to drive down 3 streets. I'd have done a runner but the reason for getting the taxi in the first place is cos I couldn't walk no more.
