Every year, on the eve of announcement day there's a hint of optimism. The usual mentioned names are :Weezer / Cypress Hill/ Brand New etc...

Then on announcement day, the optimism is shot. And hatred takes over.

Its an amazing transformation, kinda like a werewolf in a full moon.

I'm just hope 2017 will be different to the last 5 years.

I miss Zane Lowe's evening announcements on Radio 1. I remember 2015's first announcement, listening to the show on my drive home from University and being so happy when Enter Sandman started.

I remember in 2014 listening in the car and Zane played All the small things for the Blink announcement (I'd never seen them and they were my favourite band at the time) and I went mental and my mum nearly crashed the car. Now it's just kinda like a news headline isn't it, Zane really bigged up the announcement

My hope for tomorrow is Royal Blood gets announced to sub Muse, Eminem gets announced with Major Lazer subbing and Kasabian don't play Saturday.

30SM or Bastille to sub Muse or Eminem would also be fine.

Seems strange that there's been no word in terms of Eminem appearing anywhere else. No single or album announcement either. Reckon it'll all flood in tomorrow?

It does seem odd, especially as the announcement is in the morning. I could have seen him dropping an album overnight with no warning, but that seems unlikely as america won't be awake at the time of the Reading Announcement.....

I really hope Eminem doesn't get announced!

i'm Guna be optimistic about his setlist and hope he plays a load of tracks from the eminem show and the albums prior to it. Think if he dropped tracks like remember me, amityville, just don't give a f*ck, guilty conscience, say what you say etc it has potential to be a memorable performance. However I will stress again that im being extremely optimistic haha

Unless the final headliner is being held off from this announcement (I haven't been keeping a close enough look to see if 'third headliner' has been included in all the promotion) I'm finding it weird that it's gonna be Eminem for the same reasons other people have mentioned - seems odd that Reading/Leeds is the first thing he's gonna announce in his new album campaign. Not saying it won't happen; just that outside of Neil's TBC it doesn't seem very likely at all, and a small part of me is still expecting Royal Blood and/or some crap co-headliner thing

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
