I feel bad for the Foo's and hope that the Foo's play next year and that we can keep talking about the Foo's because I've become quite attached to the Foo's apostrophe.

We just booked tickets to see them in Paris as I was so down about Wembley and Glasto. Feel a bit happier now.

Viagogo. They were £50 ish plus fees and UPS.

Worth pointing out, I guess here it as good as any, the Foo's tour plans this year I would say leave little chance of returning this year for stadiums. They only have gaps end of July/start of August and start of September. Both periods make it extremely unlikely so it'll be early next year before they'd be able to fulfill their tour anyway.

The OS is down to 55,000 seats now so you may as well go to The Emirates anyway.

The emirates will be in use in August!

 

Plus thats more about distances for field sports, would be about equal with the pitch, as those lost seats are not about footprint, and lot of the lost seats will be behind the stage. (I think its 70,000/75,000 if they use everything they can thats left over after the roof conversion.)

They emailed me the other day saying they'd email me Friday about refunds... They didn't email me Friday.

I think the email is delayed! I got mine this morning but read the statement from the promoter who is just sending out refunds. They will be sent back to the debit/credit card that paid for the tickets on the 24 June at midday, they say it may take 3 - 5 days.

Looks like it wont be rescheduled this year and when they are rescheduled it seems likely that we will get no special treatment and it will be a normal ticket sale day.

To be fair, if there's no possibility of them rearranging the shows at Wembley due to not fitting into the stadium's schedule, I guess they wouldn't be able to let us use our tickets for a rearranged gig elsewhere, due to different seating layouts, etc.

The fairest thing would be to announce a few O2 gigs or something at the end of the year, and give Wembley ticketholders the first chance for tickets. What makes you say it seems likely we'll get no special treatment?

Edit: Obviously I'm just talking about Wembley tickets here. They'd have to do the same thing with arenas in the other cities they were due to play.

So it has. It's been rumoured for a while but they seem to want to broaden its appeal as a general culture magazine rather than just an indie music mag. I'll give that about a year then.

Dave Grohl was raised in north Virginia, about 10 miles from Washington DC.  Washington DC was the closest city and he played in bands based in DC.  Didn't go to Seattle, Washington till his early 20s.  Kurt was the only one actually from Washington state.

 

This is in no way a defense of NME's shocking journalism but, on this occasion, calling Washington DC a homecoming gig, for Dave Grohl at least, is about as correct as they get.

i'll stick with my criticism...the fact that the reporter mentions Heart as also being from Washington as well (and surely any rock historian knows that Heart are from Seattle, Wash) is evidence that the reporter is referring to Foo Fighters as being from the same Washington state, which they are since they were formed there. 

Grohl growing up in the DC suburbs is a mere coincidence really to this. Nirvana were founded in the Olympic rainforest of wash state in a tiny town called Aberdeen by Cobain and Novoselic, so both of them grew up there. not enough of a fan to know how/when Grohl got involved, but my point is...to suggest that RFK Stadium was a Foo Fighters hometown gig and that Ann and Nancy Wilson of Heart were on the bill as well because of that is fucking ridiculous,

I'd guess it's less of a coincidence and more stupidity at hearing it as a "homecoming" for Grohl and then getting confused by the State and the District.  You've got to hand it to NME, when they make a mistake they go all out with it!

I'm not 100% what you're getting at here.  There is an Olympic Park near Seattle but I'm pretty sure Nirvana weren't formed in a wood?!  Kurt lived in Olympia for a while?  Novoselic didn't move to Aberdeen properly till he was about 16 so I suppose that depends on your interpretation of "grew up".  

 

Channing drummed on Bleach and Grohl drummed on Nevermind so 89/90 for Grohl's involvement I'd assume.
