They didn't announce Muse on the back of wining a Grammy.

Anything to do with Adele is big news. There's no need to piggy back the Brits.

I know what you're saying but what a better time to announce her than now? It would be massive news.

I'm selfishly hoping she does it as then I can go see New Order now on the other stage.

I'm pleased and will probably watch them, despite having seen them 3 times previously (IOW 2007, The O2 2012, Emirates Stadium 2013). They always put on a good show. I just hope for a decent setlist from them.

I'm not particularly a fan of Radiohead, and definitely not a fan of Adele, so hoping for a Saturday night surprise, but I'll most likely be elsewhere that night! I would watch Radiohead if they were on though, just to see what the fuss that everyone makes on here about them is about :P

I'm lying the blame for this firmly at the door of the meat and potatoes brigade who protested about Kanye West.

Noel Gallagher should be forced to perform a set of Missy Elliot covers on the Other Stage as penance.

Penance for who?

I don't even want to think about the problem getting tickets if they played the Academy. Never really heard of an arena warm up gig before, and I hate the arena anyway. The Roses don't do things the normal way though I suppose.

Remember the warm up gig at Warrington in 2012? Tickets were free, but you had to get to the venue in person with some form of roses merchandise.

Fuck LCD better be on at the same time

I do find it odd that they announced Muse and not Adele, and with Neil's info proving to be wrong concerning Adele being the next announced headliner and Emily saying 'British BANDS' and Neil's Radiohead info... probably clutching at straws here but none of that adds up to Adele to me

You are clutching lol, Radiohead aren't going to be as someone said the Saturday night live TV show.

What if Adele bailed and they were left with no choice? I'm sure they'd rather have a decent headliner than just somebody to please the viewers at home. ITS NOT FUCKING OVER

You're right.....until StanJames give me my fucking money.....then it's over :)).

They could have done this out the blue with Adele coming next week to surprise people. Eavis aren't silly and know people expected Adele next.

Agreed, they're nowhere near as TV friendly as Metallica!

At least Metallica have got a bit of something in them.....Coldplay at least have some upbeat stuff. Radiohead aren't upbeat and have a lot of slow stuff, I think you'd need to really be a fan to bother tuning in.

Imagine if after all this debating about Radiohead & Adele it actually ends up being Prince

:ninja:

I'd be fuming,....but then realise I'd be at New Order, so it's all good!

I still don't buy this. Glastonbury headline crowd is around 6x the size of the crowd for the o2. For a big headliner anyway.

Then you have the differences in set-up, sound, its outdoors etc. That's what made me so suspicious.

The only real basis I have for her headlining is Neil's info t'other day.

I don't think so.

The O2 holds 22000, times 6 makes 132,000 which I reckon would mean that every paying customer on the site would have to be at the Pyramid stage.

Would leave the rest of the site somewhat empty

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
    • In a 6,800-word Substack essay, external, the Clacton MP said "anti-white racism was embedded into the state", and that legislation aimed at equality was a form of "social cleansing"   .https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cdjkd4mp93zo   The privileged white c**t hasn’t got a clue what racism is.
    • BBC iPlayer: Will serve as the main hub for past sets, including both recent hits and iconic archival gems. You can explore the BBC iPlayer to watch curated compilations, "Best of Glastonbury" recaps, and on-demand replays of historic headline performances. [1, 2, 3] TV Broadcasts (BBC Two & BBC Three): The channels will air dedicated compilation shows. Leading up to the weekend, you can watch archive programming such as Glastonbury: 70s Legends, 80s Legends, and 90s Legends on BBC Two. [1] Radio & BBC Sounds: Pop-up Glastonbury radio stations on BBC Sounds will feature non-stop coverage, including exclusive mixes and huge sets from past years
    • Got HBO Max to watch football so watched One Battle After Another which is a great film and deserves its awards and then rewatched Magnolia and that is a flipping amazing film...so much in it. (also rewatching Angels In America series which is also amazing).
