Lol I hate Muse but not really crying at the fact they're headlining. There will be plenty more to see. And it's not like it wasn't obvious it was going to be them.

I still think the final headliner will be a little surprise. Don't have anyone in mind but it's just a gut feeling I have . I don't like Radiohead or Adele either but if they're announced I still won't throw my toys out of the pram like some of you are.

It's all in jest. People are disappointed that certain acts appear not to be headlining and that Musr and Coldplay are, but I don't think anybody's genuinely sitting at home sulking. We're all smart enough to know there's a plethora of stuff on offer at our beloved festival

People might not like Muse, Adele and Coldplay but I'd suggest there's not another UK festival that could get those 3. They are huge acts and only Glastonbury can get them. The rest couldn't afford them.

Doesn't Glastonbury spend the least out of most festivals? Didn't fleetwood mac do IOW because Glastonbury didn't want to pay so much for them?

About the announcement id personally rather muse over radiohead so it isn't so bad for me.

I think it is jest for most people but I wouldn't discount that some people are serious. You can tell by the way they "drone" on. :)

Whoa there fella. I thought we were all in agreement that Depeche Mode were headlining next year.

I'd be extremely certain Depeche Mode definitely won't headline Glastonbury 2017, based on nothing but common sense

They were strongly rumoured for Glastonbury and a bunch of other festivals worldwide until their tour got cancelled. I think easty might get his wish on that one, though I could see them being easily dissuaded by IOW and a bag of cash or something.

Yeah, I wouldn't go as far as to say I'm expecting them next year but when I think of a trio for next year they're one of the first names that come to mind given what apparently happened in 2014.

I'm pretty sure U2 played festivals back in the early 80s, they were booked for Glastonbury once but didn't play for some reason.

Maybe they did, but U2 only got 'really' big in the mid to late 80s with the Joshua Tree, and as far as I can tell never did a music festival when they were at their commercial peak. Stones doing Glasto a few years back only followed them doing festivals such as IOW a year or two earlier

U2 at Glasto was the biggest coup ever for the festival in my opinion, not least because U2 haven't done a festival since then (maybe because it left them exposed as performers that night!)

You're all moaning about the Muse announcement. I've got my head in my hands over the T in the Park 'Radio 1 Summer of Dance' stage. I've had it, they can keep my deposit. I'm trying for the Glastonbury re-sale instead. Gonna try and get all the help I can. And I don't care about Muse either. Putting things into perspective for all of you here.

Don't seem to be touring at all in 2016 so yeah I'd say so

Really wanted them for last year, gutted IOW threw the money at them. It seems the boat has been missed especially if not active this year.

Ignore me

got to be honest, when I see your name as the last poster on these threads, then I think those bastard Korean (probably) kitchen sellers have finally worked out how to infiltrate individual threads on these boards!

We are all doomed I'm telling you....

well I'm over the moon with this announcement as love Muse, don't care if they've played before or not lol

Don't know why people are moaning as always shed loads to see elsewhere, I can't be doing with Coldplay but a lot of people like them so whatever....

TBH already at New Order Saturday so hope its not a bad clash with the last headliner

Foo's last year was hardly an inspiring booking in the grand scheme of things but at least it was different as they hadn't played in 20 odd years or whatever it was.

Coldplay and Muse just lacks any real imagination from the organisers and could have been sorted over a cup of tea.

I found the video quite amusing,

Sunday headliner, look at us, on top of the world, Saturday headliner, stadium rock full swing, now friday headliner - heading towards being an afterthought.

I like Muse and seen them a few times before but had no interest in much off their last three albums really.

It was a pretty cool way to announce themselves but yeah, that last shot was pretty unintentionally funny

Gotta say, as much as the booking has annoyed me, I'm definitely gonna try and make it over after LCD for the Knights of Cydonia encore - they may not have done anything worthwhile in ten years, but that's a hell of a closing song

    • It was never going to be great was it, there is comments of Mickey Mouse all over socials lol which is very similar to Glastonbury.  Someone I know from RIP watched Welcome to the Jungle and left and they went saying they've got to see GNR. It was the only day not to see out as well.
    • I decided to goto bed early for the Aussie game rather than stay up for Scotland. I don't regret my decision, I also love the complete over reaction during the world cup when a player has 1 good game, that Watford winger is now everyones dream signing. Its also funny when clubs get into the hype and end up overpaying for someone who then does nothing in the prem.
