They didn't headline Coachella the second time.

Pretty sure there was a couple of scandinavian fests they weren't on last too either.

They're pit-yackers Gnom!!

Haha well that's me corrected then :-)

If true then it makes a mockery to the suggestion they won'the play Glastonbury doe to the £££. It just would not make sense for them 2 play 2nd on the bill in Norway but not headline Glastonbury.

The Stone Roses are never ever going to sub anyone ever. They either headline their own shows or headline what ever festival they play.

They also said no to supporting New Order as well. Off the top of my head here but I can't actually remember them subbing or supporting anyone.

I await enlightenment. I don't know what it means but sounds suitably derogatory for me to like it already.

I don't think Ian Brown's attitude has changed really though Stu. It is John Squire who is the one full of shit, as seen by his artwork regarding the Roses reforming.

The major problem is that it never ends up being secret, because the name of the band playing that slot always leaks before the festival. You could have someone on bigger than they've had, but they could never have a headliner size act doing it. Putting Stone Roses on at that time in the morning would be more dangerous than Pulp and Radiohead in the Park, and it would be more crazy than having Adele on in an earlier slot on the Pyramid. The whole festival would turn up at 11am at a stage that can't handle anywhere near that many people.

And not to mention the fact that Emily said in the 6music interview that they were done with those "secret" slots for 2016...in so many words that is...

BRIT awards.

There's a suspicion that Adele could be announced for Glastonbury via something there, from Emily saying the next announcement would be in a couple of weeks.

You had some info leaning towards that didn't you unless I've made that up in my head

Thank you, I thought the next announcement was March but I'll stand by my bed and await a possible announcement on Wednesday

    • Another one from Sheffield DocFest this weekend, Earth Wind & Fire docu, directed by Questlove. Sensational archive footage, contributions from band members, family, plus a lot of very big fans (Stevie, Lionel, Flea, the Obamas) and a warts n all assessment of the genius / flawed human being that was Maurice White. Also, I never realised he started out as a jazz drummer with Ramsay Lewis. Well worth a watch.
