Headliners 2016

I think we shouldn't have much fear of Rihanna possibly headlining at least as it seems her tour sales have been shocking and there was even talk of the plug being pulled on the tour or at least for the Sunderland gig. Sales were doing very badly from what i hear and now Beyonce has trumped her and sold out so quickly. If she doesn't cancel she will have a very empty stadium to play to.

Coldplay today became the first headline act to be confirmed for Glastonbury Festival 2016. They will top the Pyramid Stage bill on Sunday, June 26th.

The band will become the first artists to headline Glastonbury on four occasions, following previous Pyramid Stage headline appearances in 2002, 2005 and 2011. Their 2011 set was later voted the Top Glastonbury Moment of the event’s long history by BBC Radio listeners.

The Glastonbury performance will be Coldplay’s only festival show of this year’s A Head Full Of Dreams Tour.

I know this isn't a popular opinion from reading the forum but I am really looking forward to seeing them. I saw them at TITP about 6 or 7 years ago and thought they were great. Shame a lot of my friends won't be with me for the closing act of the festival as a few of them are also feeling disappointed with Coldplay being the headliners so will probably disappear somewhere else.

I  can't wait, personally.

Coldplay were superb in 2011. And this was from someone who didn't like them until that performance! If it's anything like that it will be a great end to the festival so is a solid booking. After the messing about the festival had last year you can't blame them bringing out the bankers.

And if you don't like....then so much more to watch and do on a Sunday evening.

Hoping for Radiohead announcement next....

I'm with you on this.  It seems all the rage to hate Coldplay and Muse etc.  But I for one (with my wife) will be very much looking forward to this AND to Muse if/when they get announced.  Both acts are brilliant live.

Superb.
