Been to the Apollo a few times now and you're right, it is shallow and wide. Feels smaller than Brixton downstairs and generally there is plenty of room near the front if you head right or left.

There's a nice slope which levels off about four or five metres from the front, which leads to some space I guess.

Three bars in the auditorium as it were, right, middle and centre. Three or four as soon as you walk in the front doors as well.

Asolutely smahing it out the park today Rbangs, chucking out useful information left right and centre.

Long may it continue.

Oh I adore Hold Tight London. Just had to stick it on as I've not heard it in ages. I've never heard it live either despite seeing them umpteen times. Sadly I'm not going to the gigs this tour so that wait goes on.

Last night in Glasgow is one of the best gigs I've been to... seen them several times before but really felt it last night. A part of me is still lost somewhere in that Private Psychedelic Reel closure.

That said, today at work was a massive struggle though - getting too past it for all nighters followed by a job post a Chem Bros set.

Heading down to London from Leeds in a bit, so excited!

I've seen the Chems a few times (5 I think) but only ever festival shows so I'm really looking forward to it being indoors.  I've got a seated tickets (I messed up when buying) so I'm hoping that doesn't ruin things.  I think someone quoted me earlier in the thread saying they were seated for Orbital and it was good so I'm hopeful.  It'll make going to the bar/toilet easier at least!

Looking promising....

I dunno, it's awfully soon for them to return again, they're pretty much only suitable for Other headliner.  She posted something about a John Grant gig being amazing between the 2014 and 2015 festivals, but he didn't turn up again until 2016.  Sometimes Emily just mentions amazing gigs.

I'd be all over it, especially since I've not seen them since 2007, and that was for about ten minutes, before I went back to camp to get out of the horrendous sog.

This is still the same tour that they began in summer 2015, so not much chance of a reappearance so soon.

They are mates of hers though, what with her husband being their former manager.

Do you know if it's still just one of them touring, with the lights man as the other 'brother'?

Fairly sure it's both of them now.

Yeah it's both now, he has returned from academia.

With reference to the Emily Eavis post I don't think there's any chance of them next year. I fully expect to see them headline the Other again in the future though. Hopefully with another run of indoor shows.

    • Tonight was a disgrace. There wasn't *that* much rain, and it wasn’t *that* windy. A festival of this size should be able to withstand some adverse weather without it bringing the whole circus to a standstill. And if it is true that part of a speaker on the Revolut stage fell…   As for the communication - announcing Massive Attack were playing at 12:30 and then nothing for over an hour while people waited in the rain. It’s laughable it really is.   If I said I’ll never come back again I’d be lying. The shambles of Barcelona 2022 and the disgrace of Madrid 2023 didn’t stop me, so this probably won’t either.   This festival gets so much wrong, but it is always saved by having such killer line-ups. It’s just a shame it treats the fans/customers/consumers like animals. Compare it to somewhere like Glastonbury and it’s worlds apart.
    • Yeah, I admit that a small part of me felt relieved when they announced that MA are canceled.. But on the positive side- got to see Florence Road afterall, and they were great
    • Glad I could take the €3 bus to Playa Catalunya! Hope y'all warm and dry up.
