grumpyhack
To clarify what I was saying earlier I wasn't condemning people who want a drink, just asking, after some of the enthusiastic posts about how much booze they take, how important it was for people. As a lot have people have said, the important thing is that you don't ruin it for others. I remember chatting to a copper a few Glastonburys ago on a Saturday night (I think they were giving out suncream or some similar PR stunt). I asked him: "What would you normally be doing if you weren't here?" His answer was: "In Frome breaking up the fights between the drunks at chucking out time." He then paused and smiled and added: "It's much easier just walking round and looking at a load of stoned out hippies."
Tuna
@Grumpyhack I like maintaining a healthy glow from about 4pm-4am. I'm 21. Nothing wild - I'm usually the one who knows where we're going. But enough to keep loose in the lips and the hips.
Nutella Versace
Calimocho for us (Red wine & coke); easy to drink, not too sweet & doesn't need to be cold. It makes cheap red wine much more drinkable. Sounds horrid but give it a go, you'll be surprised!! That & a bottle of vodka/ Tequila/ Whiskey for chasers. dan05delaney
I will take a couple of ltrs of flavoured vodka and a few boxes of cider, I usually end up taking some home and end up passing the vodka out to whoever is stood near me at the time
alibobbin
Mate, that stuff is minging. I thought it wasn't at all bad for the price! Especially if you freeze the bottles and keep it cold. I will be mainly taking red though as I tend to be ok the next day from it, plus it's nice warm. Anything after the 2nd glass tastes the same anyway
Bisque
Anything after the 2nd glass tastes the same anyway Very valid point. I remember necking a cartoon of the Tesco rose to then spew it all over one of the bars in fabric after I had a shot of tequila. I had to leg it & hide in a corner & lost my mates for a while. Dark dark times. Edited April 21, 2015 by Couchy
Adster
Its about minimising daily weight (dont want to go back to the tent) and trips to the loo on an evening/night for me, Buy a few pints in the afternoon when the sun is out (the sun WILL be out) A sports bottle with wine for the evening Hip flask with rum as it heads into the night, buy and mix with some diet coke as needed. Like your style but that is grape/grain/dark/light mash-up that I don't think I could do on a daily basis and come back from.
LondonTom
Always worth a look at this for an easy way to check booze prices, think it gets updated weeklyhttps://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/lv?key=0AsH9BBL4g1OhdDI0WGs0Zk5IN3lSZk5FS0xkaFhVZXc&usp=sharing&pli=1 Just fantastic!!! 2/3 litres of spirits for me (flavoured, so no need for mixer ) and then a box or two of cider/lager cans usually does me for booze I bring onto site. Supplemented with some cold pints everytime I pass a "specialist" bar like Brothers or Cider bus etc. (Though as they had Thatchers I did buy the odd cider at the main bars to last year, see what happens when you given people something drinkable!) VisionOfLove
Anyone know if it's possible to source Brothers Toffee apple in cans anywhere? My all time fav festival drink and will obviously have one too many cold ones at the brothers bar, but would be nice to have some to hand as well. kemosabe
I have a question regarding dehydration/ hangovers If you were to get up and chug your recommended amount of water would that mean you will be alright to turn to Alcohol all day, or must you space your water intake out over the course of the day?? I'm not saying I fancy the above option! But I was just wondering how water intake works really

If you drank 2 litres of water in one sitting before bed, the majority would not be used for much else other than to expel waste through your gentleman sausage. To really avoid the hang over, you need to sip water little and often. That being said, a pint before bed and a bottle next to you in the tent for intermittent sipping seems to work best for me. The_Amazing_Oblong
2 warm cans of strong continental lager and a smoke as soon as you open your eyes and everything is once again right with the world. Works every time. Breakfast of champions.

EighteenSixty7
Does anyone know of Rekorderlig do bigger thans than the 330ml ones? We're thinking of taking mostly Strongbow this year (the silver can one), we've taken a lot of spirits the past few 2 years and they never seem to keep well. I am tempted to make some Skittles Vodka though. I'm having a look at the Brothers website too, they've put some Strawberry cans up.
