Also, I need some help guys, one of the friends I'm going with to latitude has suggested seeing the vaccines over portishead - how do i tactically back out of said friendship?

The mere suggestion gave me shivers.

On related portishead-love, i pity any who were at the Arctic Monkeys on friday 2013 :(

I can't believe I saw Portishead. Pretty decent, but maybe, gunna go down badly, boring. Sort of sit down music with a lovely light show. Which is what I did.

Only for half an hour getting a Growler, fucked off to Chic as soon as I gobbled it down & boshed some more drugs.

I like The Vaccines & I would still go see Portishead over them after my brief Glasto experience.

Tell it to them straight but 100% make sure you give them the promise of meeting up afterwards, phone numbers & places to meet, so they know they'll find you to carry on the night & party later.

Nobody likes losing friends.

Last year in our group of 6 I left the rest of them to go and see Massive Attack over Kasabian. I just met up with them afterwards and everyone had a great time.

By the way, I saw Arctics in 2013. I don't like being pitied, so just call me a fucking idiot.

You can give me an extra bit of pity as not only was I in a lot of pain on my first day on the crutches (Thurs night mishap), but I realised too late that I couldn't make it to Other in time so I stayed with friends at Pyramid. Arctic Monkeys were good tho and I had lots of vodka :)

My friends are massive artic monkeys fans, they went to watch them, I'm a massive Portishead fan (I am from said town in North Somerset), and obviously watched them. We met up after & glasto fun was had. It did no harm to our friendship. (Drug induced Pringles throwing tantrum later may even have strengthened the bond).

This is the basis of one of my big festival dilemmas. I'm a big Portishead fan, but I'm also a huge fan of slightly irritating indie-post-punk-garage rock (or whatever you want to brand the genre as). Only two times I've had tickets for a festival with Portishead on the bill: Glastonbury 2013 and Latitude this year. Why can they never clash with bloody Mumford and Sons?

Go and see Portishead. If you are true friends, then he/she shouldn't mind and if they do, well, diddums to them. Go and see Portishead anyway if you want to. I do this at festivals all the time and it's never an issue.

Are we to presume that there will be a radio show on Wednesday to announce the line up?

Because they could just release it now. It is obviously all finalised. I presume Wednesday is to book a slot in for press coverage?

I think its probably more to do with the registration closing that day, but yeah could be that too.

The fool! I had no intention of going to Latitude this year until I saw that Portishead were headlining (helped by the strength of the other acts).

Ditch him, you'll be fine. I share entirely different music tastes to all my friends so ended up spending most of Glastonbury on my own last year. Still had a great time.

I haven't been on here since Thursday, seems like I missed a hell of a lot!!

Anyone care to summarise the last 53 pages? Announcement on Wednesday.... do we have a time?

Looks like wednesday, no time as to when. Neil heard wednesday and West holts tweeted "definitely news this week". No 3rd headliner. (But not prince or fleetwood mac)

Fri - west holts.... Hot Chip

Sat - west holts.... George Clinton and the Family stone (Possibly)

Fairly sure it will be Wednesday at this point, what with Neil's info and West Holts confirming an announcement this week.

for West Holts to do that, West Holts must have had some info on Sunday, cos west Holts didn't know on Saturday (I gave him a lift home, and probably hurt his ears - without any luck).)

I like Mr West Holts. Seems like he wants to get the line up out there as much as we want to hear it.

Seems like all the stages do to be fair. Scratch that, I imagine the Eavis' do. Sometimes I wonder if we wouldn't all richly gain some perspective if we spent 48 hours behind the scenes.
